Vulnerable Democratic senators balk at Obama's gay marriage endorsement
The Hill ^ | May 12, 2012 | By Alexander Bolton

Senate Democrats facing difficult reelections are breaking with President Obama’s endorsement of same-sex marriage, a sign the issue is politically dangerous in battleground states.

Sens. Jon Tester (Mont.) and Claire McCaskill (Mo.), the two most vulnerable Democratic senators, have declined to endorse Obama’s call for the legalization of gay marriage. Sens. Joe Manchin (W.Va.), Bob Casey (Pa.) and Bill Nelson (Fla.), Democrats who have easier races but in states that could become more competitive by November, have also backed away from Obama’s stance.

We all know they are getting approval to take these stands. No courage of conviction here.

What a pantload. These “people” have don soooo much to destroy America. This ridiculous exhibit of false bravado doesn’t even make sense considering that they’ve voted “yay” to so many other gay agenda issues.

I find it funny and a bit irritating that Claire McCaskill is running away from the one as fast as she is...for the first two years of his reign she was on TV everyday basically drooling over how wonderful he was...you could ALWAYS find her with a smirk telling everyone how great he was...now she is running to the right so fast her feet are touching the ground.......sickening.

Vulnerable Democratic senators balk at Obama's gay marriage endorsement

Vulnerable as in "sensitive to obama's feeltings on the matter?" Maybe not. Vulnerable as in he's "Worried about his seat"? Scratch that. Vulnerable as in he's "Susceptible to obama's position?" Strike that. Oh, forget it.

This "new gay world" is getting too complicated...

It’s an amazing statistic, that 0-32. Doesn’t represent much evolution on the subject, does it?

CA should count twice as that is how many times the liberals made us vote gay marriage down (and they still won't accept it so they have taken it to court!)

Younger voters love the gay movement. This is our future.
Obama is trying to get these younger voters energized again. It seems the older voters are upset but the younger voters like these gay role models and their lifestyles. Even Fox seems to have a gay slant.

I can’t figure out why Manchin doesn’t switch over to the Republican Party. I don’t know of any significan issue where he sides with the Democrats and Obama is trying to kill the Coal industry in his state.

I'm waiting to read all the news stories about how the Labor Unions are all lining up to support Obama’s new position on Gay Marriage.

If this doesn't energize ALF-CIO members to go to the polls and vote for Obama in November, nothing will! Richard Trumpka must be excited!

“Younger voters love the gay movement.”

Why don't you go to the ‘hood’ and ask how many love queers.

If you live through that you can ask again in the ‘barrio’.

Easy. Because Manchin isn’t a Conservative. He got an 85% liberal rating from the ACU for 2011. That means he’s well to the left of the Maine Twins.

Gay marriage is 1-33 for amendments, with all the states that have put pro-marriage amendments now having some sort of amendment. Arizona failed to pass an amendment in 2006, then passed one in 2008.

There have been some states that only passed them in the low 50% ranges, many more that passed them in the 70% (or more!) ranges, breaking down how you would generally think they would by state and region, considering time period. Most of them passed in the middle of the last decade. If NC amendment was passed in 2004, no way does it “only” pass by 61% if you look at the other states around it that passed amendments 6-8 years ago, in my opinion.

I think the second the homosexualists think they have the numbers, they will quit screaming about their ‘civil rights’ being infringed by the majority and start screaming for popular votes to try and repeal the ones that only passed in the low 50% ranges. If they have the numbers they don’t need judges or pols to cut out the middle men.

The NY Post, too. Just get a load of their gay music critic and his bitchy web site.

Did Harry Reid not say that gay marriage would be a plank in the Democrat platform? They adopt it they ALL own it.

Every one of these grifters should be stuck to BO like epoxy so they can ride his coat-tails to defeat in November. Every one of them voted for ObamaCare. Every one of them voted to spend the 1.5 TRILLION dollars that the US had to borrow from China because we are trillions of dollars in the hole.
