I am betting that you have no legitimate complaint about a lack of variety of names but that it is the honoring of patron saints as role models that gets your goat. Either that or you have not thought this one through. Neither. It was "inside" Catholic humor that obviously went down in flames ;o)

That reminds me of Ronald Reagan’s remark, “I knew Thomas Jefferson; he was a good friend of mine. Senator, you’re no Thomas Jefferson!” May we all live to be as old as you and Mr. Reagan!
One of the jewelry-store Tiffanys was a hero of the Spanish-American War, but I’d be more likely to name a daughter Theodore Roosevelt than Tiffany. “Gunner Anoreth,” as she is now, narrowly missed being Lee Atwater (German last name) on her birth certificate, instead of Josephine Victoria Clare. Mr. Atwater died the day after she was born, and the vital-stats paperwork was all done.
Best wishes to your daughter on her prom dreams. I went shooting and then out to dinner with my Dad on prom night, “Frankie’s” under the Bridge-Tunnel on-ramp, best fried oysters ever. We always went there when Mom was out of town.

I'm not the only one who is on a roll.
Unitarian churches certainly have schools. They are known by such names as P.S. 666 or Horace Mann School or John Dewey School and are fully paid for by your taxes and mine.
The Unitarian church (Oh God, if there is a God or To Whom It May Concern) has two, ummm, doctrinal committees riding herd on the students, the National "Education" Association and the American Federation of "Teachers."

In that event, my apologies go out to you. May God bless you and yours!

1. I am a shameless plagiarist as you noticed.
2. I knew Lee Atwater personally in Young Republicans. Fret not. Josephine Victoria Clare is a better idea by far.
May God continue to bless you and yours.

I was a young Republican myself in those days, only 24. My more historically-minded friends caught the irony of naming her after two empresses and the original “Poor Lady,” but I still think there might be a religious vocation when she’s done her Militaristic Period.
God is much, much kinder to us than we merit, so we’ll just carry on ;-). The formerly tiny baby Kathleen Amelia is almost 4 months old and weighs 17 lbs., and the number-one son William Jesse (grandfather’s and great-grandfather’s names) has a summer job!

I would understand and respect the schools decision if they truly upheld church teachings, Wright said Sunday night. They didnt forbid the entrance ... all the kids who planned to get drunk after the prom. Even if that were somehow evident, teens getting drunk isn't a sin. It's illegal in most states, but it's not a sin in the Catholic Church.

who died and left these two as gods to sit in judgment on the decisions of their CATHOLIC school to abide by Catholicism and reject their perversions??? 15 0r 16 year old sophomore Tiffany Wright apparently imagines that the Church and its institutions are some sort of democracies and that her opinions as to the governance of her CATHOLIC high school have some sort of standing and some sort of relevance. Ummmm, Ms. Wright, the Church is not McDonald's. You do it our way or you get your insubordinate backside out of here. There is no third way. Always good to see you resurface to share your wit and wisdom..
