Bush touts Arab spring, says US can't fear freedom

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Former President George W. Bush on Tuesday praised the Arab spring movement and said the U.S. shouldn't fear the spread of freedom, even if it doesn't know what policies newly liberated countries will pursue.

"America does not get to choose if a freedom revolution should begin or end in the Middle East or elsewhere," Bush said. "It only gets to choose what side it is on."

Good grief.

Did he really say this, or is this just the stupid MSM saying he said it?

Evolving "Bush Doctrine"?

We are all free to choose. Choose wisely.

So it’s okay to treat women as property and burn Christian churches? Somebody should give Bush a pretzel.

It's disappointing to hear him say this stuff and prove where he really stands. I've always liked GW, but being from a NWO family...what can you expect?

Bush said uprisings last year in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and elsewhere marked the broadest challenge to authoritarian rule since the fall of the Soviet Union, but said some feared what that would mean for U.S. foreign policy.

"America, they argue, should be content with supporting the flawed leaders they know, in the name of stability," he said. "But in the long run this foreign policy approach is not realistic. It is not realistic to presume that so-called stability enhances our national security."

Bush said the U.S. also doesn't have the power to "preserve the old order, which is inherently unstable."

Bush probably said this. I saw him speak a few months ago, and his response to the Arab Spring was similar. He celebrated it.

funny talk since specifically, the current Regime fears freedom in the US, and in general, the entire government fears freedom in the US. So much so that they are willing to surrender sovereignty to the blue helmeted UN which should really have red helmets.

Somebody should photoshop the blue helmets into red with one of the commie symbols combined with the UN logo and of course, the bullet holes in it.

“So it’s okay to treat women as property and burn Christian churches? Somebody should give Bush a pretzel.”

Let me get this right. You’re wishing death by choking on the former President of the United States with that scummy, liberal “give Bush a pretzel” mantra because of a disagreement? He effectively said that we need to wait for these “revolutions” to play out? Do I agree with that. Nope. Do I wish death on him for his opinion ... HELL NO!

You are a DISGRACE to that uniform boy ... don’t you ever forget that you scumbag. Publicly wishing death on a current or former President is disgraceful at best.

Our current president supported violent revolt in Egypt and Libya and did NOT support the efforts in Iran to depose the Islamists.

Were the people of Poland any freer under the Soviets than they were under the NAZIs?

There is a difference between which movement is calling for revolt and regime change. Sometimes there needs to be opposition to several movements.

Meanwhile the middle east’s royal families still have their wealth and power and the socialists wring their collective hands that the West doesn’t give the poor over there enough money in the name of redistribution.

Terrorism isn’t caused by poverty. Arafat and Bin Laden were billionaires.

Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton supported war criminals who tortured, humiliated, and murdered a POW named Momar Gaddaffi. The Sec. of Hate chortled “we GOT him!!!”. War crimes charges are tossed around a lot. But they still have merit and war criminals are in the White House.
