OMAHA, Neb. - The Associated Press has projected Deb Fischer as the winner of the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate.

Most of the evening, Jon Bruning maintained a lead over Fischer; however, during the 9 p.m. hour, the lead switched in favor of Fischer.

Just under 6,000 votes separated the top two candidates when the Associated Press called the race.

That’s where Palin came in. Somebody said she recognized that Stenberg gets stuck at around 20% support so people needed to solidify around Fischer. I knew I couldn’t vote for Bruning once I heard about him sending a letter to Congress urging the confirmation of Eric Holder as AG. I was thinking I’d vote for Stenberg until Palin endorsed Fischer and the polls looked like it was Fischer who could beat Bruning. I think that’s probably what happened with a lot of people.

As crazy as it sounds, this was also a victory for Stenberg, because it was the ads on his behalf that got Bruning defeated - even if it wasn’t he who ended up as the candidate.

What I really hope is that this causes a discussion about Eric Holder. I hope the Congress-critters realize how much America despises that fox guarding the henhouse, whose stated purpose is to keep “his people” (Blacks, commies, terrorists, illegals, Obama thugs, etc) from ever being prosecuted for violating the law. Americans want the rule of law, not a banana republic. I hope the Congress-critters grow a pair when they realize how much it matters to us peons WHO VOTE!

Agreed. Bruning was one of the big movers on the suit against Obamacare. Classy move and I do think he has the goal of beating Kerrey and getting rid of Obama.

I met a guy a couple of years ago who is one of Bruning’s best friends and has been since jr. high school. He said Bruning is a great guy and extremely funny. He also said that his success in politics has not changed him at all and that he was basically the same guy as he was in high school. This was a guy that came out to clean up some pet mess spots on my carpet and not a big shot at all and this was way before the senate run came up so I beleive him.

That being said, I am thrilled with Fischer’s victory. As late as the middle of last week, Bruning’s victory was a forgone conclusion. I think it shows that the people of Nebraska want someone in D.C. who won’t stab us in the back like Nelson and will represent this extremely conservative state in a conservative way.

And just to clarify, I quit the Repub party in disgust about 5 years ago so I didn’t vote in this primary. Deb will certainly get my vote this November and I may have to send her a little contribution as well.

Another headache for Mitch McConnell. Let’s keep them coming!

Senator Kyle and Rand, hang tight, help is on the way. Tea Party Reinforcements are on the way.

Romney's worst nightmare, Palin's Army pulling him right on every piece of legislation, sweet revenge for his destroying her for the last 4 years..

Not to take anything away from Palin, but she was late to the party. Fischer had shown significant gains in support before both the Palins endorsed her.

“Actually, Lugar immediately endorsed Mourdock.”

Sort of.

“He has pledged his support to groups whose prime mission is to cleanse the Republican party of those who stray from orthodoxy as they see it,” said Lugar of the GOP opponent who beat him.

“This is not conducive to problem solving and governance. And he will find that unless he modifies his approach, he will achieve little as a legislator. Worse, he will help delay solutions that are totally beyond the capacity of partisan majorities to achieve,” said Lugar.

Lugar, a senior Republican statesman who briefed President Dwight Eisenhower as a young naval officer, offered a shot across the bow to today’s GOP.

He said if Republicans continue to make it difficult for legislators to find compromise, “we will be relegated to minority status. Parties don’t succeed for long if they stop appealing to voters who may disagree with them on some issues.”

That is one HELL of a pee-poor ‘endorsement’!

Great photo of Sarah Palin. She looks beautiful, serious, and ready to punch the RINOS and DEMONRATS to hell.

We need more Palins and less Boehners and Mitchells.

Nancy Pelosi - watch out, Stretch. Your days are numbered. There is a cell reserved for you in Alcatraz (going to open it up just for you). INSIDER LAND SPECULATION DEALS, S.F.
