Female soldiers this week are moving into new jobs in once all-male units as the Army breaks down formal barriers in recognition of what has already happened in wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The policy change announced earlier this year is being tested at nine brigades, including one at Fort Campbell, before going Army-wide. It opens thousands of jobs to female soldiers by loosening restrictions meant to keep them away from the battlefield. Experience on the ground in the past decade showed women were fighting and dying alongside male soldiers anyway.

That ain't Infantry.
Still, it’s a dumb idea.
“That ain’t Infantry.”
Just you wait. Fags, women, then dogs, cats, midgets, blind people etc. Odumbo isn’t finished destroying us..
Yup, but you can’t stop the tides. Especially with this new CSMA. I just hope they hold it off long enough until I’m out.
But then, it will be too late to turn back.
Egalitarianism is God in American society. The only factors that will triumph over it in contemporary America are: eating, drinking, drugging, copulating, evacuating the bowels, snoring and attending “The Games!” It will eventually destroy us as reality favors the unequal.
Egalitarianism was god to the communists before the Spaish civil war. When war came, the communists were slaughtered.
It could not happed here, right?
Band them all together into Affirmative Action Brigades and send them to the front as a unit so they don’t get the real soldiers killed.
So they’ll have to sign up for the draft and pass the male PT test too, right?
Rush had the right idea....
” . . . Women have been acquitted of murder by explaining that they had PMS and didn’t know what they were doing or couldn’t control their behavior at the time of the crime.
Now, folks, I have a compromise proposal to allow certain women into combat. I propose the formation of the All American First Cavalry Amazon Battalions. We will have fifty-two battalions, one for every week of the year. That way we can guarantee we will always have a combat-ready battalion of Amazons with PMS who will always be available to do battle with the enemy.
Imagine you are Manuel Noriega, or Saddam Hussein. Take your pick. You’re in your presidential bunker, under attack by the Americans. But you’re holding out okay—somehow you have even managed to elude the new highly touted American “smart weapons.” The only hassle you’ve got is that some American GIs are playing rock-and-roll music at about 800 decibels outside your bunker. Sometimes you want to commit suicide, because you’re convinced they are sending subliminal messages as part of the music. But you’re coping with it and you certainly aren’t threatened with any physical harm.
Then, suddenly, outside your window you hear a bloodcurdling cry: “I AM OUTRAGED BY IT! OUTRAGED, I TELL YOU!” Sure enough, you look outside and it’s Sergeant Major Molly leading the first battalion of Amazons with PMS over the hill, coming right at your bunker. The sight would be enough to scare the pants off of anybody, and there’s only one thing you could do: surrender. Voila! The good guys win again!”
When was the last time the gals demonstrated for the right to be drafted?
They're 'equal' after all.
NOW, or the military, or Congress bringing this up anytime soon?
*crickets*
It’s already happening. Panetta announced a review of all the misconduct and harrassment reported from the field. For the first time in US military history, you are getting MULTIPLE cases of men being raped by other men in their units.
How about that?
I seem to remember ‘high-minded’ arguments about the erosion to ‘unit cohesion’ and ‘good order and discipline’, but I also remember that those arguments were dismissed with the implication that such concerns bordered on discrimination, and that we had similar issues with integrating blacks.
The Wikileaker was a poofter too, if I recall.
Anyway, it was cool while it lasted I guess. I hope it all happens quickly.
My opinion & a buck fifty will get me a cup of coffee but, personally, I hate the idea.
that’s “unfair!” “War on women!”
When the armed forces are filled with people who are not qualified for their rank or MOS, when the qualified career soldiers who will not comply are tossed out and America gets its clock cleaned in a major conflict - maybe they’ll reconsider what they have done.
What is CSMA?
If the female soldier is up to the task, so be it.
Command Sergeant Major of the Army. The top enlisted guy.
- and if she can’t pass basic lower the requirements.
Better yet, reinstitute human wave tactics.
If he/she can't pass Basic they shouldn't become a soldier.
Infantry isn’t the beginning and the end of the story, they can’t even lift a heavy cooking pot, change a truck tire, climb into a five ton, I watched some MI females try to set up their big canvas tent one time, it was a fiasco, the males of their unit had to go over and do it for them.
The military life, especially outdoors is largely moving heavy stuff, lifting, digging, handling things that need a man’s grip, every time we physically weaken ourselves we take a step back.
A 20 year Sergeant used to moving and utilizing 20 GIs to get maximum results, will have to adapt his expectations down if he gets 20 females instead.
Cute.
If they were then we wouldn’t be having the discussion, but they aren’t.
Don't worry they're ruining the Marine Corps too. I know so many SNCOs with 10+ yrs in, in critical MOS' (that are SHORT and NOT effected by the cuts) that are leaving in droves.........most of the people I know worth a damn are counting down the days [or already gone].
Elections have consequences.
Nope, the US won’t reconsider. Just like the Romans, they’ll keep partying the night away until the Vandals sack them.
It’s just not a good idea. The country is on a path towards destruction, this is another confirmation of it.
