President Obama tops Republican Mitt Romney in a head-to-head matchup, according to the latest Fox News poll, which finds American voters feeling more positive about the economy.

Obama would have an advantage of 46 percent to 39 percent over Romney, if the election were held today. Three weeks ago the candidates were tied at 46 percent each.

The national poll, released Wednesday, shows the president’s lead is just outside the poll’s margin of sampling error.

I doubt there’s 7% in this nation that would change their minds in a week. I guarantee there are no more than 5% undecided.

President Obama tops Republican Mitt Romney in a head-to-head matchup, according to the latest Fox News poll,...

WTF?

This can't be true because America yearns for a true conservative and Romney has shown via his prominent background that he is severely conservative, for example...

Give me a moment...I KNOW, no that wasn't conservative, well he...no that wasn't conservative either.

Well, I'm sure some one can show something conservative that Romney has made a name promoting, I'm just drawing a blank presently.

Today’s Rasmussen poll, which polls likely voters as opposed to registered voters, has it 47-46, Romney over Obama.

Exactly. Gay Marriage can’t have the support be proclaimed yet still get beat down by 20 points in swing state NC and 5 points in gay California.

3pt margin of error ~ applicable to each candidate. That gives Romney a possible 36% to Obama's 43% today. That's a grand total of 79%.

A full 1/5 of all the registered voters ain't sayin'!

That's consistent with yesterday's comparable poll by a different company, although the results are reversed.

They should each fall to the bottom (of their minimum support level) in a quantum fashion ~ at different times.

Another month and there'll be 2/5 of the registered voters chosen at random who will express no selection!

Interestingly I’ve seen several bumper stickers with “Obama 2012”. No mention of Biden.

All these “polls” are bunk. There’s only one poll that matters, and that’s the one on election day

Absolutley!!! Hell, remember in 2004, even the election day exit polling had Kerry winning, and we know how that turned out.

It also over sampled Rats. 42% of responses from Rats only 34% from Republicans.

Notice how "likely voters" total percentages jumps up to near 100%? That's because all the "registered voters" who are making no choice are being deleted from the sample selection.

You have to know BOTH results ~ one of them to tell you how the candidates are doing in general, and the other to compare the one against the other.

The material I read about this poll didn't indicate any pre-stratification by political affiliation, so all you have there is a report of what the randomly sampled people said they were.

You can take such a poll tomorrow and get a totally different result.

The polls that are pre-stratified (so that you get your 40% Dem, 10% Republican and 50% independents) may be taken to test the general validity of the other non pre stratified polls.

Not every poll is statistically valid but that doesn't mean they have no value to understanding the other polls that are statistically valid.

They pay people good money to do this stuff!

Yep!

The Obama campaign is desperate right now. Every diversion they've tried has failed: contraceptive issue and women, race baiting in the Trayvon Martin case, “evolving” support of gay marriage...yada...yada! Everything is failed.

This fool is throwing anything and everything at the wall to see what will stick. I think we also heard another bull sh*t poll showing Dear Reader leading Romney amongst young college age students. I guess this is why the skinny Marxist has been visiting every college campus he can. Remember the pitiful number of students who came to see the Marxist in Ohio.
