Fresh tragedy hit the Kennedy family Wednesday: the estranged wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. hanged herself in a barn behind her Westchester home.

Mary Richardson Kennedy, 52, was the mother of four children, the youngest of whom is 11.

Unfortunately, it happens. I know of a lady who did so after many years of depression.

May God have Mercy on her tortured soul and heal her children. A mother of four, leaving one eleven year old speaks to her agony and overwhelming hopelessness.

Alcoholism can be deadly for some. I am sorry for anyone in that much pain.

My female cousin hung herself 52 years ago. I still remember every detail of that awful day.

A friend in Jr. High hung herself. I will always remember that. She asked me to stay overnight and for some reason I didn't. Always felt that I should have, but can't control the past. Also, she didn't get along with her father at all (if I remember right, he may have been a step dad), and it was speculated by classmates that he may have killed her. Not a good memory at all.

Sure, we don't know exactly what happened. People are going to make suppositions. Some are more likely than others, especially now that the media have mentioned that she wrote a note. Nowadays, there's a conspiracy theory about everything. Some theories are more likely than others, that's all.
