Fr. Norman Weslin has passed away
America's Party News ^ | May 17, 2012

Posted on 05/17/2012 7:52:01 AM PDT by EternalVigilance

From Randal Caffery:

Tom,

Raymond Soileau just informed me that Fr. Norman Weslin died yesterday, 5/16 about 7:30pm.  He had been suffering with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.  He was living in Traverse City, Michigan.  He was married before becoming a priest (was in the Army I think) and his wife is from Michigan so I'm sure he'll be buried with his wife.  She died from a drunk driver hitting their car.  He was arrested in the Notre Dame / Obama scandal which I think you may have seen it first hand.  Raymond tells me some of the America's Party leaders knew him.

If you could, pass it on to the group.

Perhaps my holiest and most valued client. He was a late convert, a late vocation to the priesthood after his cherished Irish Catholic wife was beheaded in an accident in his presence. He had had a significant military career and he and his wife were driving to Chicago and getting off an interstate when she was killed. He said Mass in my home on several occasions. He was the greatest Rescuer of the unborn and the greatest man's man that I have had the privilege of knowing.

I dare to hope that Father Weslin has been re-united with his beloved wife Mary in heaven and that their children will continue to carry on their work with the Mary Weslin Homes for Unwed Mothers.

Fr. Weslin: pray for each of us here at Free Republic and for the heathens who are running Notre Shame into the ground.

Requiescat in pace, Father Weslin, and please plead with God for me and mine and for the babies and for each and every pro-lifer! You were the very best!

I don’t know how it was for anyone else, but when I went to the link, there was a google ad for Obama at the bottom of the video.

Sad and exploitative weasels.

The video is wonderful and moving.

May 16th, 2009 he's arrested at Notre Dame. Three years later, to the day, he dies. Father Jenkins, where is your conscience?

I can remember an older priest getting arrested, and I was so proud of him.

Lambs of Christ is his story. An absolutely humbling book for those of us who work in prolife but are so tepid in comparison with the great Fr. Weslin.

So much truth in a picture. God Bless/God Speed. Many prayers for Fr. Weslin; and suspect his prayers will continue, for the damaged world and those in it; that he left behind.

Thanks for posting. We New York Lambs of Christ are devastated by our loss and Heaven’s gain.

We will never forget your friendship, your spiritual and active leadership, your words and your example.

Today at the Rochester church, aptly named Our Lady of Victory, he led us from to pray the Rosary at Planned Parenthood and return for Mass and Confessions, the St. Thomas More Lawyer’s Guild is celebrating Mass with a talk on Religious Liberty.

Imagine he died three years to the day of his arrest at Notre Dame. Who will risk arrest protesting Sibelius at Georgetown???

” Father Weslin also gave us one more “divine set-up” by dying on the eve of the Ascension into Heaven of Jesus.”

Father always told us: “We win!!!

“When the time comes, as surely it will,

When we face that awesome moment, the final judgment,

I’ve often thought, as (Bishop) Fulton Sheen wrote,
that it is a terrible moment of loneliness.

You have no advocates, you are there alone standing before God
- and a terror will rip your soul like nothing you can imagine.

But I really think that those in the pro-life movement will not be alone.

I think there be a chorus of voices that have never been heard in this world but are heard beautifully and clearly in the next world - and they will plead for every one who has been in this movement.

They will say to God ‘Spare him, because he loved us.’
And God will look at you and say not `Did you succeed?’
But `Did you try?’

~~Congressman Henry Hyde

I thought you all would like reading Father’s remarks after his arrest at Notre Dame.

Thank you for letting me know.

From the Cayce Readings [Ca’R’ings]:

... pray oft for those who have passed on. This is part of thy consciousness... Those who have passed through God’s Other Door are oft listening, listening for the voice of those they have loved in the Earth...
(Ca’R’ing 3954-1)

Keep praying!
