Wonder Park Elementary School was briefly on lockdown Thursday morning because a neighbor was acting suspiciously, police said.
At 9:52 a.m. a neighbor of the East Anchorage elementary school called to complain that another neighbor was making threats over construction in the neighborhood, said Anchorage Police Department spokeswoman Anita Shell.
The man was seen putting guns in his vehicle.
"His behavior was questionable," Shell said.
Because children were playing out at recess in close proximity, the school went into lockdown for about 45 minutes, she said.
Police visited the man at his home. He was cooperative and voluntarily gave up his guns for safekeeping, Shell said. They will be returned to him.
"We don't have any indication (he is a threat)," she said.

He voluntarily gave them up.
“He was cooperative and voluntarily gave up his guns for safekeeping, Shell said. They will be returned to him.”
“’We don’t have any indication (he is a threat),’ she said”
I don’t know what those parentheses are about, but if they don’t think he’s a threat why do they have his guns? And how “voluntary” was it, really?
Sounds like a sport shooter or hunter who was overheard saying something like “I’m going to give those bastages what for about this goldurn construction on my street.”
This being the decidedly non liberal Alaska I think the odds are yes the guns will be returned in a few weeks, but why this charade at all?
Nice ridicule image — but, did you ever wonder why there is a partial airliner fuselage hanging in the air in the background of that Photoshopped kludge? (Apparently, some folks have no craftsmanship pride...) ‘-)
So the TSA can practice gunning down domestic terrorists (aka law-abiding American citizens)?
You gotta adjust your beeber...that’s no ‘chop. I can tell by the shadows, they are all right, and I’ve seen alot of chops in my day
