A man happy to let others embellish his background to separate himself from his peer group to his advantage now wants to be the final arbiter on fairness in America.

The Breitbart Crew has done the world a very valuable service in finding a 1991 biography of Barack Obama from his literary agent claiming he was “born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii.”
Our own Jeff Emanuel also pointed out a 2004 Associated Press article that began, “Kenyan-born US Senate hopeful, Barrack Obama, appeared set to take over the Illinois Senate seat after his main rival, Jack Ryan, dropped out of the race on Friday night amid a furor over lurid sex club allegations.”
I do not believe Barack Obama was born in Kenya. I don’t think it matters even if he were born overseas because his mother was an American citizen. I’m not going to debate it with the cult of birtherism.
But the Breitbart Crew has, only a few days after the Obama White House was caught editing the biographies of other Presidents on the White House website to insert Barack Obama into their Presidential legacies, done an invaluable service in highlighting two very important issues.
First, as someone who has written a book, I find Barack Obama’s literary agent’s explanation not very credible. The literary agent explains, “This was nothing more than a fact checking error by me — an agency assistant at the time. There was never any information given to us by Obama in any of his correspondence or other communications suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii.”
It was a fact checking error based on . . . no facts? Barack Obama never gave any information . . . suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii? Well where the hell did this very huge extrapolation come from? It’s like the virgin birth of a legend — some lady and God alone were involved.
That’s laughable. Miriam Goderich had to have gotten the idea from somewhere. But what is more laughable is that Barack Obama did not know and did not approve. When I wrote my book, I had to approve my biography multiple times. But more damning, this biography went to the press in 1991 and it circulated for more than a decade.
Even the Associated Press picked it up and I cannot find anywhere suggesting Barack Obama tried to have the AP correct its reporting.
The point is not that Barack Obama was born in Kenya. The point is that Barack Obama has repeatedly been perfectly okay embellishing and having others embellish his qualifications and biography to make himself someone unique instead of just another Chicago politician. The pattern goes back to his job as a “financial reporter”.A former colleague of his and Obama fan, way back in 2005, claims Barack Obama really embellished his resume describing his financial related reporting.
Second, and the largest point, however, is that the media is yet again caught flat footed, claiming the story is no big deal, irrelevant, or that somehow the Breitbart Crew is in the wrong and peddling Birtherism.
They are not peddling Birtherism. The Breitbart Crew are kind of like illegal immigrants — doing reporting Columbia journalism grads won’t do. And doing it quite well. In 2008, the New York Times ran a big story on John McCain having an affair with a lobbyist. It got picked up all over the place. Reporters were on the trail. There was no *there* there.
It took most of the month of August in 2004 for the media to pay attention to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth — men who served with John Kerry and had real problems with both his conduct in Vietnam and his conduct after he left Vietnam. The media did not want to cover the story. For a while, it was just Fox News. The clear demonstration of bias finally forced the New York Times and the big three nightly newscasts to play catch up as dismissively as possible.
This story has been out there since Barack Obama ran for the United States Senate. Even now the media is dismissing it as frivolous. If it turned out Mitt Romney had not actually been a missionary in France, it would be headline news.
Barack Obama embellishing his biography to make himself look unique? Hardly worthy of press attention. In fact, nothing Barack Obama has done suggesting serious character flaws — and that’s what this is about — is ever worth the media’s collective attention. Why? Because some people think Barack Obama was born in Kenya, but much of the press corps is pretty damn sure he was born in Bethlehem.
One last point — a friend raised this on email. Could this be why the campaign screams bloody murder about racists and birthers every time someone asks about Barack Obama’s college transcripts? This would explain why Obama is so squirrely about the issue and waited until Donald Trump caused him measurable damage in the polls on this issue before responding. He’s not embarrassed that people will find out he lied about being born in Hawaii; he’s embarrassed they’ll find out he lied about being born in Kenya.
I believe Obama was born in Kenya....or at the least NOT born in the US.
I believe he’s a fraud at all levels.
But I am wondering, as to what Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh have pointed out, if this story isn’t just to distract.
Somehow...I think it’s both. A distraction AND (more) evidence of the liar and fraud that Obama is.

Sean Hannity occasionally brings up the topic on his radio show although he always emphatically denies being a birther.
Erick Erickson, I will not forget that you are no friend of mine. I even hate the name of your website. "Red State." A tacit acceptance of the communist colors that the networks saddled George H.W. Bush with back in 1992, because to color Bill Clinton as red would have been so obvious, and therefore counter productive to his winning of the election.
Yes Eric, You have accepted the Communist colors, and apparently the doctrine as well for your totalitarian (suppression of discussion) and propaganda (mocking and maligning those who believe Obama is not eligible) efforts on behalf of your ignorant understanding of history and the law.
It is my fervent hope that someday Erick Erickson will get his comeuppance and that people will remember that he is no friend of the truth, of freedom of speech, or of conservatism. I would not piss on you if you were on fire.
A friend of mine has a daughter about 15yo. When her daughter was born she wasn't allowed to fly with her baby in a pressurized plan for around 6 weeks, if she remembered correctly.
Said the change in pressure could rupture a baby's ears.
She was in the Air Force at the time so I don't know if it was just AF doctors rules or not.
That is a very good point. I had heard it suggested before, but this is the first actual testimony to that topic.
As for where Obama was born, I have researched the Canadian angle quite a bit. It is known that Stanley Ann Dunham had an Aunt living in Canada in 1959 (Eleanor Bikebeile) but later living in North West Washington state in the town of "Blaine".
Blaine is *ON* the border with Canada. The Northernmost street in Blaine *IS* the Canadian border. It shares this border with the town of White Rock Canada. Here's the thing. White Rock had a hospital back in 1961. Blaine did not. It is VERY likely that if Stanley Ann was sent to live with Relatives while she was pregnant with a black baby (Remember, this was 1961, and this was they way they handled embarrassing pregnancies) then it is very plausible that he could have been born in Canada.
That Stanley Ann showed up in Seattle just two weeks later argues quite strongly for the likelihood that she had been there all along.
At the moment, this is my strongest working theory as to the truth. (Subject to changing via new information of course.)
Always amazes me how political correctness and hate speech admonitions can stifle and prevent free speech. And it’s generally a one-way street aimed at silencing conservatives.
In UK recently a young guy was sentenced to 26 days in prison for what a judge deemed a phone text of his as hate speech. I fear it is coming here.

I believe Obama was born in Hawaii. I firmly believe the notion that his teenage mother took a very expensive and arduous journey by herself to a third-world country specifically to have a baby is ridiculous.
But I now think that Obama might've been playing the "Yeah, I was born in Kenya" card in his early adulthood (or, at the very least, not correcting those who referred to him as Kenyan-born) simply because with the image he was trying to project, it was cooler to have been born in post-colonial Kenya than vacation-paradise Hawaii.
Yes, I now believe Obama lied about where he was born. I believe he was telling people he was born in Kenya (or at least allowing them to believe this) and this was the lie.

I don't see any way possible for him to have been born anywhere else other that right in that area as you speculate, especially in 1961. Travel wasn't as easy as it is now.

He sets off my gaydar. He’s way to gawdy emotional to be a normal guy. He seems a homo’s flowery imitation of a PMSish lady half the time. What man, after presenting information that Obama was born in Kenya, snarks, “I’m not going to discuss it” when IT is THE obvious thing to discuss? It’s like he has the vapors.
Erickson is a Catholic, married with kids so he isn’t gay, and on many occasions I have been glad he is on our side because he can be so incisive and articulate. However, when he uses those gifts on a take away I disagree with, he can be tough to take, so I get what you’re saying.

A baby and a mother were in Seattle. Why people think it’s SAD and the man currently known as BHO boggles my mind. Enough evidence has been presented on FR to prove that the mother and baby are not SAD or the current BHO.
Corsi, IIRC, received something that purported to be SAD’s transcript. It was taken apart by David, you can search his comments (he doen’t make many) and find out. It was fake. The only friend who saw her was an 0bomba voter and would have said anything. Other than that, there is no - zero - evidence. It was made up after someone found “Anna Obama” in the whatchamacallit directory. It was the Filipina Anna who was in Seattle.
How about a trip to northwest Washington to live with her Aunt Eleanor Birkebeile during her pregnancy? In 1961, it was common place for girls with embarrassing pregnancies to be sent off to live with relatives to have their baby. Judging by the fact that Madelyn Dunham's co-workers didn't even know she had a grandson, I would say Madelyn Dunham was a little bit ashamed of the fact that her daughter was going to have a black baby.
Aunt Eleanor Was living in Canada in 1959 (She had two young sons that died there, and they are buried in Canada.) but she later moved to Northwest Washington State, and lived in the town of Blaine which is right on the Canadian border and shares it's Northermost road with the Canadian town of White Rock.
White Rock had a hospital, but Blaine did not.
That Stanley Ann could show up at her friend's house (Susan Blake) two weeks after Barry was born, implies that she was in the area all along. If Barry ended up being born in Canada, it would explain all the efforts which have gone in to avoiding the release of his actual birth document. I think all Hawaii has is an Affidavit of at home birth which they used to create a Certification of birth. It is not the same thing as proof that he was actually born in Hawaii, and if they released it, it just wouldn't fly.
