No sooner did the literary agency brochure in which Barack Obama was said to be Kenyan-born surface than the media went to work to deep-six it.
"This was nothing more than a fact checking error by me - an agency assistant at the time," Miriam Goderich, now a named partner in the literary agency, Dystel & Goderich, wrote in an emailed statement to Yahoo News, which was then picked up ABC News. "There was never any information given to us by Obama in any of his correspondence or other communications suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii. I hope you can communicate to your readers that this was a simple mistake and nothing more."
This confession rings false to the point of preposterous for any number of reasons. Let us start with the obvious. At the time, 1991, the Acton & Dystel agency listed 90 clients, Obama among its least significant. How likely is it that Goderich would have remembered enough about a 1991 "error" to know it was hers, especially since it went uncorrected through several revisions until changed in 2007? To make this claim credible, there would have to be an existing paper trail leading to an Obama submission in which he lists an Hawaiian birth. I am confident that there is no such submission.

That said...There is something else about this bio that is a bit strange.
It states that Obama was born in Kenya (a country), and then raised in Indonesia (a country) and Hawaii - not a country, but a state in the U.S. Why didn't it say "raised in the United States" as opposed to simply "Hawaii?"
It is a small inconsistency but, IMHO, just another indication that Obama never considered himself a citizen of the United States as a whole. He felt estranged from this country, as many Hawaiians do, in a sense. There is some resentment by some native Hawaiians for the U.S. and, possibly, that also led to strengthening his feeling that that Americans are evil people. Back in the '60's many native Hawaiians felt that the U.S. imposed itself and its government where they were not wanted. Just another reason that, deep down, Obama has never felt any allegiance to this country. He grew up in cultures where the U.S. was mostly characterized in a bad light.

I suppose there is one way. As mentioned, he was one of their least significant clients at the time. Knowing he lies all the time - and assuming he wanted to get more attention, move up in the roster, he would submit this information to make himself more “exotic” and “interesting” - worthy of more of the agency’s attention. And maybe it IS the information he used to get into Harvard and was only reinforcing his original lie. With him, who knows?
There’s a distinct lawyerly scent associated with claiming to have been born in Hawaii instead of the US, just as there is with claiming to be native born instead of natural born. Relying upon imputed meaning to create an impression but carefully avoiding an actionable claim.
The pamphlet from the publisher is just one of many. Though the years, until 2007, newspapers in the States and around the world have carried the same “born in Kenya” meme.
Many disappeared as soon as freepers pointed them out. It was a pattern not just a single editors error. They are resurfacing now as people dig into their research files and pass them on to Brietbart/ others.

How would this woman know he was associated with Kenya if she was not told that. Why not Chad, or Nigeria, or Somalia? Wake up people. He was definitely born in Kenya. This man is not elligable to be president according to the Constitution. There is nobody in a position to question him with the intestinal fortitude to do so, starting with the first person to have a chance, Judge R. Barclay Surrick.
So Mr. Obama’s ambitions were to become mayor of Chicago and a Kenyon birth was more advantageous for that goal than a Hawaiian birth so he declared himself Kenyon. How do Democrats explain this without sounding dumber than they normally do? I’m thinking that the Democrats need to find a way to send Mr. Obama back to Chicago.

I would say let the "birthers" stay focused on this, and the rest of the nation on the economy. People can deal with two problems at once.

The BIG issue is what did he use to get student aid when he was over 21.
If he showed proof of foreign citizenship to get that aid, THIS is what disqualifies him from being president.... doesn’t matter that much in comparison exactly where he was born or who his real daddy was.
Fraud is a crime; obtaining the highest office in the land is a ‘high crime and misdemeanor’.
The constitution calls for impeachment in those cases.

Who has ever said that? They only have to be “CITIZENS” at the time of the birth. Naturalized or Native. Whether they meet the added requirements to be president of “Natural Born” status is irrelevant.

Notice I'm not arguing the veracity or truthfulness of the claims, or the validity of the argument.
My point is and remains what the American voting public sees before its eyes, and that which it understands.
Simply stated, the birther issue and all the minutia/facts around it will never be fully understood by enough people in this country to gain traction. Period, end of discussion in my book. Just look at Watergate, most people to this day still think it was about the burglary, when it was around much larger Constitutional issues!
Before you ask, YES I think most people lack the intellectual capacity to grasp the issues around where Obama was born it and understand it in the larger context of the Constitutional issues. The evidence that most people don't get it - and never will - is before our eyes, all one has to do is open them and look.
Having said that, what most people WILL understand is that which they see before their very eyes which is an economy made infinitely worse by the current occupant of the White House. Everyone knows someone who's struggling economically, unemployed/underemployed, losing or lost their home.
In short: IT'S THE ECONOMY, STUPID and that is the sole issue we should be focusing on. People get that because they're living and struggling with it. Most people are NOT better off today than they were 3.5 years ago when Obama took office. That's an economic FACT that people CAN and WILL get their heads around, not the "birther issue."
I'd also say that continuing along the lines of arguing abou the "birther issue" is going to do nothing but make our side look like a bunch of crack-pots and cause us to lose the needed Independent/Conservative leaning voters we need to win.
If you doubt me, look how the media portrayed the birther movement last time around. Why do you think the Independents went for Obama? Hopey-changey bullshit rhetoric aside, we had folks who despite having the best interests of the Country at heart and doing their level best to defend the Constitution, were labled as crack-pots and worse by the media. That portrayal drove many Independents to vote for Obama.
Anyone who doubts that will happen again and only serve to re-elect Obama is absolutely kidding themselves.
I'd also suggest that IMO the entire "birther issue" was started up again as a disinformation/misinformation campaign designed to keep the discussion away from Obama's abysmal economic record. Anyone who's seen Axelrod operate for 20+ years in politics as I have sitting here in Illinois can't help but think he's at the heart of starting up the birther crap again. I saw what he did to Jack Ryan in the Ryan v. Obama Senate race. Axelrod's a master at starting misinformation/disinformation campaigns designed to distract attention and destroy his opponents.
Even Rush Limbaugh is falling for that tactic, he spent more than an hour wasting time on this topic yesterday.
Now again, I'm not calling those who fervently believe Obama's not a citizien and not qualified to be President names. The media's going to take care of that and help Obama win re-election by dividing the country - again.
I think many involved in the birther issue/movement deeply care about the Constitution and the country. I'm not judging their hearts. What I'm simply saying is the issue's been out there before and has failed to gain traction. That's not a damnation of "birthers" or the facts, rather it's a damnation of the stupidity of the American people.
Winning this election means focusing on Obama's FAILED RECORD, period. Focusing on anything else is a distraction designed to get Obama re-elected. Don't fall for it.

My thoughts exactly. It is finally starting to hit the tipping point from which there is no return. Problem is: How much will he steal on his way out? When an employee is being fired, they are escorted out and not given access to important “stuff”. Obama is diverting money everywhere by fiat. He just gave the PLO a ton of money that Congress withheld. He must be getting a percentage.
