There is no truce! Retread troll zot!
Vanity | Christopheros Geanakos

Posted on 05/19/2012 6:59:51 PM PDT by geanakos.chris

First of all, not a newb.. just a purge victim from the primaries.

JimRob posted almost a month ago about a so called truce between Romney supporters and the rest of the FReeper community. Since then, it appears the left has little job to do in driving a wedge into the right wing, we are doing it still ourselves.

Were is this truce? How come all I see on here is Alinsky tactics of divide and conquer? Today there was a post about Evil Mittie and him fundraising with morning after pill distributors. And the "true blue conservatives" pounce, little do they know that this pill manufacturer is one of the largest generic pill manufactuyrers in the world.. who produce all kind of medicine, even Augmentin, Azithromycin and Cipro, common anti-biotics..

This so called truce makes me sick. Can't wait to read the next half-baked anti-Romney article and the zealot FReepers who will eat up its every word because it furthers the narrative of Romney that THEY want him to fit into.

I'm not upset that people have beliefs that won't "allow" them to vote for Romney.. but what really irritates me is this active campaigning against people who would support Romney.. what game are you trying to pull? To deliver us into 4 more years of Obama servitude, for what purpose?? It strengthens conservatives? Talk about a phyyric victory. If you don't support Romney fine, but we are all anti-Obama here.. lets stay on focus.

"People like YOU told us to hold our nose and vote for Dole. Then, people like YOU told us to hold our nose and vote for McCain."

In what parallel universe did these two actually win and do mean things to you?

These folks are beyond logic and reason.

Which is where Romney Republicanism inevitably leads.

"Wanna bet?"

Hey, you're running for President. I'm sure you just heal yourself...

If you take a good long look at Romney's showing in elections and primaries over the years, he's a 20 percenter ~ and only by manipulating the rules to keep down the vote does he ever float above that (SEE: Virginia Primary 2012 as an example).

The general public sees that in a candidate and recoils.

We still need a candidate who can draw in the party base AND attract Democrats from specific factions if we are going to win.

Otherwise, this guy has fundamentals that are simply too negative to create any interest in having him as President.

Yours was the most persuasive post I’ve read on FR. Until the final paragraph. Then you became insulting, just as the leftists do. You blew away the good you might have done.

What do you not understand. Romney is a shifter, I may not like his prior stances, but he’s movable.

Romney is a liar who has governed from the left and who now claims to be on the right.

With Obama there is no chance that he will govern on the right. For example there is a 100% chance that Obama will continue to support the slaughter of the unborn. With Romney, the lying shifty "shifter" who is known to shift, there is some chance, albeit small chance, that he will govern on the right as he claims.

Come election day I will considered that.

But at this point in time I can not support Romney.

I hear ya.

But what evidence is there that this shifty person truly will be beneficial in any way to further Conservatism in America? I see none. I see evidence to the contrary.

Will vote my conscience this time with no hesitation or regret.

“Do you have a lot of confidence in them being able to pull it off?”

Pull what off? Riots in Detroit? Heck man its been going on for years now-since the liberal socialists have run that city in fact. There are areas there that the cops dont even bother to respond to murders now.

Take a long look at the elections in Europe. Two more socialists governments have been put into power-one being out and out NAZI. We re-elect Obama and this government will cease to exist. He will become the dictator we all claim is now, only he will do so out in the open.

Where is your logic? This is leftist marxism. You blame the company making the pill, not those making the mistakes (having unprotected sex)

So the drug dealer is innocent? Its only the drug user that is to blame?

Look, if you don’t like FR, just stay the hell away. And I’d advise you to quit trying to hack into other people’s accounts. That’s illegal activity and you’re leaving an IP trail with failed hacking attempts a mile long.

I've been wondering if some of these hacking attempts have been successful in the case of dormant accounts. Any way to verify this? Of course if the account holder gives permission to access the account to a like-minded zotee, I guess there's not much to be done.

Everything would be fine and dandy except that Romney isn’t a conservative.

That's true! He is not a conservative. And he won the nomination without needing us to win it.

This is the part I don't understand. Surely all Romney's support didn't come from Democrats in open primary states. Are there really that many people in the Republican Party who are Romneyite liberals?

Who are they? Where are they coming from? What do we do about them?

Mitt and the RINOs have run up against a line that cannot be crossed. That line is traditional values and Christian beliefs along with a basic belief in small government.

Exactly.

When they would stand in the way of the unalienable Right to Life, that is bad enough, but to demand I support them in that crosses a line which I cannot cross.

The majority of Republicans are ‘moderates’ (that’s a liberal that won’t admit it). Numerically, RINOs are actually conservatives.

This is especially true of Republicans in elective office. Other people’s money is just too great a temptation to resist.

Bottom line: You can’t cheat an honest electorate.

Truce means everybody can have their opinion about this.

Go ahead and vote for Myth, and you won’t get ousted for that view.

Go ahead and point out Myth’s untrustworthiness, and say you won’t vote for him — that’s your right to an opinion.

There’s room at FR for both. That’s what the truce is.

There are more ‘moderates’ and liberals in the Republican Party than there are conservatives, and always has been. Conservatives are outsiders. The Establishment may be forced to throw them a bone now and then, but conservatives are still outsiders.
