A lesbian couple who claimed they were victims of a hate crime have been arrested after police determined they staged the incidents.
On Oct. 28, Aimee Whitchurch, 37, and Christel Conklin, 29, called police and reported the words “Kill the Gay” were scrawled in red spray paint on the garage door of their Parker, Colo., home.
The next day, the couple told deputies they found a noose hanging on the handle of their front door.
The women told officers they believed the incidents were retaliation from their neighbors and homeowner’s association, who had complained the couple did not pick up after their dogs.
Due to the nature of the crimes, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office worked in tandem with the FBI to investigate. After reviewing witness statements, authorities determined Whitchurch and Conklin had staged the incidents.
Both women are charged with criminal mischief and false reporting. Whitchurch faces an additional charge of forgery.

If you were stupid enough to spray-paint this on the garage....then your neighbors won’t dare take you serious or trust you from this point on. I think they can pretty prepare to pack up and move somewhere else....after they finish up a month in the local jail for false reporting.

Not too long ago some black woman reported that she had been a victim of a “hate crime”—someone had spray painted some slurs on her car. Later the police found out she did it herself.

This story made national news. Lot of fake “hate crimes” out there.
I have always been of the opinion that to control fake charges by these pervert fruit-nuts, as well as regular hetero rape fake charges is to make the punishment identical to the punishment an actual crime would have received.
Everybody else is at risk, and the charge alone is often life changing.
While should these troubled neurotics get just a slap on the wrist?

Bingo. Punishment for an act itself, but the spurious addition of a motivation for criminal activity, or worse yet, the criminalizing of speech or thought has been absent from jurisprudence until the last two decades.

Their defense lawyer will accuse their prosecutors of “hating lesbians”, just wait and see.
Similar incident at a suburban high school around here a few years back. A minority girl reported that someone had scrawled racial slurs on her locker. It was the lead story for about a week. The topic of editorials in the paper. Upon police investigation, it turns out that the girl did it herself. The media response? Crickets! Nothin but crickets! I said at the time that she should be prosecuted for fomenting hate. But that would be too logical and fair.
I find it insane that the FBI needs to be called in on such a case.
Conservatives are too trusting - too ready to believe the press.
We need to insist on full investigations of every so called 'hate crime' - and publicize the fakers...
This illustrates yet another reason to oppose so-called gay marriage. Right now there are a myriad of things you cannot discriminate against when you rent or sell a home. These include race and religion among others.
Today it is legal to stipulate a property to be a single-family dwelling. This allows prohibiting homosexual couples from renting.
The right of free association continues to be trampled. The rights of the people (individuals and communities) continue to be trampled.
I like the one where the black woman claimed that a gang of white guys held her down and carved “KKK” on her chest. Two things backfired on her story:
1. She claimed that she was held down but fought and kicked for her life. For such a valiant battle, she didn’t have the slightest hint of bruising or abrasion on her wrists or anywhere else on her.
2. The letters “KKK” carved on her chest were upside-down and backwards. She confessed that she did it to herself.
No joke. Having solved all other cases and international terrorism, the FBI gets on the case of the spray painted garage door...
It really makes sense that neighbors and the homeowners association would do this. The homeowner's association has the power to levy fines and they can have city regulators come out and investigate, fine the homeowner/renter if warranted, and take them to court. But no, they're going to send out people to spray paint slurs and leave nooses hanging around. That sure makes a lot of sense.
As for the neighbors, it sure makes sense that they would bring down this kind of heat on themselves when all they have to do is go complain to the homeowner's association and the city.
It's one thing to have a problem with a nutjob neighbor, but it's pretty obvious that this couple has a problem with the whole neighborhood. They probably figured that they'd bring forth this fake hate crime, all the heat that comes with it, and in the end they'd be left alone to do what they wanted because the neighbors and the association wouldn't want to deal with further hate-crime accusations. It sure didn't work out that way, they're still liable for what they did and now they look like complete idiots in the media for all the world to see.
I'll bet they wish now that they'd just cleaned up after their dogs.

That woman was race pimp Al Sharpton’s claim to fame, 15-year old Tawana Brawley of Wappingers Falls, New York, who in November 1987 smeared herself with dog feces and climbed into a plastic garbage bag and then claimed that six white men (included several policemen) had tortured and raped her and left her for dead. After nearly a year of Sharpton’s hyping and braying the woman’s phony story, a grand jury examined the evidence, called more than 180 witnesses, examined 250 exhibits and produced 6,000 pages of testimony and pronounced Brawley’s story a hoax.
The one I’m talking about is not Tawana Brawley, but there’s a lot of parallels. Luckily, Tawana and the chick I was talking about are both such idiots that their stories broke down quickly when the cops started asking hard questions. I posted a thread a few years ago but I can’t find it now.

An interesting fact with the Tawana Brawley case was that one of the people she accused was a New York prosecutor that Al Sharpton didn’t like. He successfully sued Tawana, Al Sharpton, and the other accusers for defamation.
I completely agree. If the cops had picked up somebody based on a description or piece of evidence, do you think the accusers would’ve said something? No way, they were out to try to ruin somebody’s life.
