Arizona bill would fire teachers for indoctrination

Teachers in Arizona would automatically be fired for bringing “partisan doctrine” into their classrooms under a bill pending before the state legislature.

Arizona Senate bill 1202 is meant to ensure students get a balanced view of what they’re taught in school, Capitol Media Services reported. In addition to firing teachers who bring partisanship into the classroom, school districts that allow it to happen would face losing state funding.

The bill is being sponsored by state Sen. Lori Klein of Anthem, who said she has received complaints about “political indoctrination in the classroom,” according to CMS. Klein, a Republican, is also sponsoring a separate measure that if passed would see teachers suspended or fired for using profanity in the classroom.

Eh, doesn’t strike me as a particularly good idea. One of those so easily abused laws with lots of platitudes.

Better Idea. Stick cameras and microphones in all the classrooms.

As much as I’m against passing laws to solve each and every problem, I could support this, given the fact that we don’t have school choice. If they implemented a voucher system, this would not be necessary.

They need to visit Tucson High’s US history classrooms. They teach US history, but it is all about cramming poor me syndrome down the throats of students. It is such a shame that the students don’t learn about their own school’s rich history of Americans who worked hard and made something out of nothing.

They should dump the DOE and all Federally designed curricula.

They should read BK Eakman’s book, The Cloning of the American Mind.

This is excellent-—video made in 86 about how bad education was BACK THEN!!!!!! We have had generations indoctrinated. This explains a lot:

Yes, it’s a terrible idea. If that’s not oppressive government, I don’t know what is. And cameras and microphones in the classrooms? And what? A new agency to monitor them constantly? What is this?

As happy as I was to see this headline, I followed up a bit, and there is this sad outcome: Partisan teaching bill dies in AZ Senate

If Democrats were to take over in AZ, and this legislation had passed, it would be used to enforce leftist indoctrination, not suppress it (”What? You’re telling your science students that man-caused global warming isn’t settled fact? That’s right-wing indoctrination!”)

Yes. Just as testing in manufacturing is not done on every widget and accounting audits do not check every number, random sampling could be very effective. Never knowing when someone might be watching could put teachers on their best behavior. No employee has any expectation of privacy while at their workstation, right ?

There were microphones in every classroom when I was in school, but the teachers knew the only person who could even possibly monitor it was the principal so it wasn’t very effective. Knowing parents might check in at random would be a different story.

We already have several cameras in every classroom as evidenced by the recording made on a cell phone of the blathering idiot teacher in North Carolina.

Kids are not being taught but they also recognize crap when they see it and they are standing up to these uneducated indoctrinators and recording their bile with their cell phones.

I see one or both happening soon. Schools will start banning cell phones in school and for the time being, teachers will reign in their indoctrinating practices for a while.

I'm surprised you all don't know what a teacher covers in the classroom is already covered by district policy which is agreed to when a teacher signs their yearly contract. Pretty cut & dried actually, teachers can't go off the deep end and cover what is not in their approved curriculum & books. Govt wants it that way for their own reasons.

That Afri Teacher did a real no no; should have never been a teacher to begin with, probably not held to the standard of most prospective White Teachers due to racial preferences.

We don't need more politicians jumping up on the bandwagon; we need more parents involved in their school boards affecting policy. Wake up you people.
