G’Day, Janey...((HUGS))...that is the cutest puppy. He’s so tiny, and the soldier is so gentle. God Bless and watch over ALL of our military men and women, and our allies military men and women.
How is your ground school doing? Still learning?

Aloha again Night Owl! ((Hugs))
Today's a rainy day....so rainy that even the ducks sought shelter.
60's huh? In Alaska that's a sure sign of Global Warming. Or maybe it's just springtime....

Almost every evening when I come home from work lately, a pair of Mallard ducks seem to be waiting on the front lawn. Doesn’t seem an overly safe place, what with dogs, kids, stupid kids, etc. But as soon as I come back with cracked corn, they approach cautiously, wait til I throw out some corn, then start dining, always with an eye on their surroundings.
We have them at odd times, all year round, in the back yard, with a creek running through it, but the front seems weird.
I really would like some rain....and I’m sure it’s just springtime.

TS, at post #6 remembered. I’m, right now, working on a post...
This is what I found so far...and yes, I’m a day late. What a great sight it would have been to see. Have you seen one before?
Fleet Week 2012 NYC
Since 1984, New York City has held Fleet Week to honor the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. The week features extensive military demonstrations, as well as the opportunity for the public to tour some of the visiting ships. The Memorial Day commemoration is a highlight of the week’s festivities, featuring the singing of Taps and a military aircraft fly over in honor of those who lost their lives in service to the United States.
Parade of Sail
The Parade of Sail marks the official beginning of Fleet Week, with a parade of ships entering the New York Harbor from below the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and making their way around to Manhattan’s west side. The 2012 Parade of Ships will take place on Wednesday, May 23 from approximately 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The best places to view the Parade of Ships are from along the New York Harbor, including Battery Park, Hudson River Park, and Shore Road Park (Brooklyn) and, Red Hook (Brooklyn).
