Why not just call Romney racist? In the most tortured twist of logic this blogger has seen so far during this campaign, Al Sharpton somehow managed to equate Mitt Romney's refusal to roll over and accept Barack Obama's attacks on Bain Capital with, yes, birtherism.
I know what you're thinking: what the . . . heck? Don't ask me to explain how or why Sharpton came to his nonsensical suggestion. Just sit back and watch the Reverend Al at work. It was too much even for liberal Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank.

It works like this: charge your opponent with something, anything— a Surrealist autonomic writing or Freudian style free association. It’s like a riff—Harlem beat poetry.
The moderator dare not cut him short or interrupt; that’s racist and Sharpton wins.
If his debating opponent says nothing but just stares incredulously, Sharpton wins.
If said opponent tells him his remark is stupid, that’s racism, and Sharpton wins.
If said opponent tries to logically disentangle, explain and rebut his nonsense, he looks boring, condescending and passionless. Everyone goes to sleep, and Sharpton wins.

Sharpton: Romney sneezing into hand = Racism
Sharpton: Romney scraping dog turd off his shoe = Racism

I truly hate this man and wish him nothing but ill will. I hope he dies a horrible and painful and long lasting death.

How, when and why did anyone decide to take this huckster seriously? It’s beyond my comprehension why the cables, nets and even a few conservatives actually give him the time of day.
