Will Obama Pull an LBJ and Drop Out?
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | Mike Flynn

Posted on 05/24/2012 5:58:12 AM PDT by netmilsmom

In 1968, the political world was shocked when President Lyndon Johnson, running for reelection just four years after a landslide victory, was held beneath 50% of the vote in the Democrat primary in New Hampshire. Sen. Eugene McCarthy scored a shocking 41.5% of the vote against the incumbent President.

The result confirmed Johnson's weakness going into the November general election. Within weeks, Sen. Robert Kennedy announced he would seek the Democrat nomination for President and Johnson announced that he would not. LBJ was bowing out of his reelection bid.

Today, the Obama reelection campaign is reeling from his disastrous performance in the Democrat primaries in Arkansas and Kentucky.

Even if he wanted to he would not be allowed to by Jarrett, Soros, Ayers, et. al. They have used him to finally grasp the power they sought and unless another suitable front man can be found they will never let him step away.

>> Any thoughts?

Obama won’t drop out, and in spite of his poor performance and lousy tone-deaf campaign, the election will be close.

Why?

The difference between 1968 and 2012 isn’t so much the candidate as it is the ELECTORATE.

50% of the electorate are either irresponsible libertines, or minorities whipped into an anti-conservative frenzy by activists, or dependent in one way or another on government handouts for their survival. OR some or all of the above.

Voting for the socialist is in their best interest.

Our great hope is that a lot of them are just disillusioned enough not to show up to vote at all.

This will NOT happen.

Correct. His ego would never allow it.

I am 100% certain that there has been massive and building pressure from Democrat insiders on Barry to do this. I am sure it started months ago when they started soiling their underwear over internal polls.

Barry is of course far too arrogant to play along. And being black the Dem power structure is too P.C. to force his hand.

So he is gonna be kneecapped. Scandal, humiliating career-ending leak, sudden appearance of the real B.C., mysterious plane accident....I don’t know what’s gonna happen but they are planning something, because absent that their entire party is goin’ down.

LBJ was an egotist and an ass - Obama far transcends those “qualities and doesn’t have the brains LBJ had. He is probably incapable of believing he can’t remain in power - after all he IS the one HE’s been waiting for...

You are absolutely correct. What has to happen, but won’t, is that the Democrat Party leaders have to march into the White House and demand that Obama either resign or decline to run for re-election. They must force Obama out. They should have done this months ago. They didn’t.

They will stick with Obama and watch the Democrat Party shrink to long time minority status. Please take note that there are no Democrat stars lighting up the party this year. They, the Democrats, are in free fall, and...they do not what to do.

The solution, dump Obama immediately!!! Bill Clinton knows it. Hillary Clinton knows it. James Carville knows it. Millions of rank & file Democrats know it. And....any objective, real world, Democrat knows it. Sadly, they made this “Obama” bed for themselves. Now let them lie and go down to defeat in it.

If Obama drops out for ANY reason at all, whomever replaces him will lose the black vote almost entirely. Even if Obama goes before the public and says it was his idea, the sense will be he was forced out by the Democrat white power structure.

I’m from MA and am no fan of Romney. However I do remember the 2002 governor’s race and a lot of attacks that the democrats would throw at him just wouldn’t seem to stick, perhaps due to his very clean-cut vibe. I remember the democrat nominee going after him in their debate and he sort of just gave a look saying “isn’t this just ridiculous, nobody going to fall for this crap.” They thought the race was going to be close but it was 55-45 by 9:30 that night.

So if Romney lucks out and continues to have attacks roll off his back, one, Obama and the democrats will get more and more hysterical, and two, Romney may beat Obama handily. But we’ll see.

No.

Obama the megalomaniac doesn’t believe he will lose. And, after the absentee ballot flood in WI recall election, he might be right. The fraudsters might have this one in the tank.

Let me be Glenn Beck for a minute. I told my wife, what 2 or 3 years ago?, that Obama would not be the nominee or would drop out. In any case there would be no second term.

I could still turn out to be a prophet.

1. Eligibility gets him. (law suits, state ballots, etc.)

2. Democrats force him out when they realize he is going to LOSE. (Nixon)

"..is obama any less popular with the left than romney is with the right?"

Last polling I saw had Romney as being supported by 87% of Republicans. I don't know what % of Dems support Obama but it is probably similar.

As I have been posting since 2008
Obama is Clinton II

Just as narcissistic

Many here were predicting Clinton was going to be forced out by the democrats over Monica

A delegation even went to see him and Hillary to get him to resign

Bubba told them to forget it and stuck with him they had no choice but to defend him

Obama would be the same

“I truly believe that martial law will be declared”

Who is going to enforce it? The military? Won’t happen? The NBPP?

We heard this during Clinton and Bush43. Obama might take some china and destroy a few computers on the way out, like the Clintons did, but there isn’t going to be martial law. That’s just crazy talk.

Drop out? Depends how you define that. He can publicly drop out while he was actually FORCED out by the party. (Nixon).

He would have no choice, they know where all the bodies are buried. Pun intended.

Romney couldn't beat Hillary. Hillary would be seen as a savior, rescuing the party from certain defeat. Enthusiasm and turnout for her would be enormous. It would be an Obama do over.

SHE WOULD WIN!

I don’t think he will drop out like Johnson, but there is another possibility.

obama has kept close ties to Kenya.
Moochelle is getting fed up being cooped up the White House.
The MF global 1.6 billion dollars are still missing.
Obama claimed that he had raised over a billion shortly after that incident.
He is out fundraising like hell and not sharing any of that money with his fellow dimrats.
He and his wife are “citizens of the world”.
He has NO emotional connections to our country.
He is used to living the high life.
Seems like they are developing a contingency plan that if the polls look bad, he skips the country with a couple of billion dollars and heads to kenya.
That would really foul up the dimrat party, but he has shown that he will screw over anyone, even his black pastor for 20 years.
