WASHINGTON (AP) -- D.C. Councilmember Marion Barry says he misspoke when he referred to the Polish community with the disparaging term "Polacks."
Barry made the remark when he was meeting with Asian-Americans.

Marion "Mayor for Life" Barry sucked on the crack pipe. His entire political career has been marked by political corruption, socialism, administrative incompetence, drug abuse, racist accusations against his opponents, whining self-pity and petty crime. He has not accomplished ANYTHING of value in his entire professional life.
He is, as he should be, an object of derision. That his constituents continue to elect him is as damning of them as Fat Drunk Ted Kennedy's and KKK Bobby Byrd's constituents voting patterns were of them.
BTW, I had the pleasure of voting against Bobby "I won't serve with a negro" Byrd ... never was a DC resident, so couldn't vote against Snort Barry.

You’re probably right. I just Googled the name and most of the hits were to the characters on “All in the Family,” but there was a soccer player in Australia with that surname who has dual Australian and Croatian citizenship. Some surnames are found among both Croats and Serbs but I don’t know if this is one of them. There are also surnames ending in -ic among Slovenes (Louis Adamic, the Slovene-American writer and activist, being one example). I don’t know if there are any examples of Poles named Stivic outside of that TV show.
