WASHINGTON (AP) -- D.C. Councilmember Marion Barry says he misspoke when he referred to the Polish community with the disparaging term "Polacks."
Barry made the remark when he was meeting with Asian-Americans.

His problem was always sex. He'd go jogging in the morning and ladies would invite him in and he'd be seduced. Then, he'd take a "nooner" ~ old friend of mine was once invited to go do a Barry interview and there he was at his desk, and he didn't get up the whole time ~ and yet my friend could see the bottom of someone's upside down high heel pumps under the front of the modesty panel in the desk.
His frequent afternoon jogs were better known.
He was hardly your ordinary mayor.

Barry used to take an interest in that problem ~ which could be even higher ~ and he got it down into the single digits many years.
People remember that ~ and compare him to the current regime ~ and he looks pretty good.
As far as "socialism" is concerned, I don't particularly recall Barry having much interest in ideology. And "racist accusations" against his opponents ~ and he had a lot of opponents locally ~ all of them somewhere other than Ward 8, and most of them were black.
So, what do you recall him saying about his "opponents" that wasn't true?
You have to remember he was an educated man with a degree in chemistry ~ hardly an affirmative action field of study.

The current DC mayor is just like PG's most recently arrested PG County Board Chairman (and his wife) ~ except he's not under arrest yet ~ but he's going there.
Nothing that happened under Barry can hold a candle to what goes on in Monkey County and PG on a daily basis!

If the subject of the current thread were the gross misconduct of the PG County Council, or the PG County Police, or the Glorious Peoples Democratic Republic of Maryland, I'd beat up on them, instead. And do so from a first hand perspective. Which you lack.

First, Marion doesn’t have a single Pole in his district....so he doesn’t have to worry much about negativity over the comments. Second, Marion can pretty much just keep running for city council and winning....as long as he can breathe. Finally, if he ever did retire....what the heck would the guy do? He can’t write a book over all the things he ever did....because no one would read it.
