Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., in a pre-Memorial Day weekend e-mail to prospective donors, is asking them to pony up money to the Democrats before you take off for the weekend.
Its one of four increasingly frantic appeals sent out during the past week by the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee (DSCC), which Murray chairs. All of them use as bogeyman former Bush political guru Karl Rove and those described by Murray as Roves people.
If we can raise another $1 million by next week, we can keep pace, says Murray. Can you help out with $5 before the long weekend begins?
Rove is co-founder of a non-profit charitable organization called CrossroadsGPS made possible by the U.S. Supreme Courts 2010 Citizens United movement that is pouring millions into the race for President and U.S. Senate contests across the country.
In off-the-record briefings with reporters, Democratic strategists have complained that the Obama campaign is vacuuming up contributions and not sharing with Senate and House campaigns, and such causes as the bid to recall Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.
The DSCC, under Murray, has revved up its anti-Rove pitch to a screech. In a letter Thursday, Bill Clinton strategist-turned-TV personality James Carville likened Rove to an ant invading a Memorial Day picnic.
So, before the weekend hits, invest in some Rove repellant, Carville urges. Make a contribution of $5 or more to help the DSCC reach its $882,000 May goal and fight back against pests like Karl.
Over the pas weekend, Guy Cecil of the DSCC urged giving dollars to fight Rove . . . Contribute today to help us stand up to Karl Roves attacks. And, last Friday, Cecil told givers: Republicans think they can cower us into submission and that we wont fight back.
Fear is the basic ingredient of political fund-raising pitches. The enemy is always about to strike in great force. Fight back is a phrase endlessly use, particularly by Murray.
But Murray and the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee may have reached a point of wretched excess and be tiring would-be contributors with four fear-based appeals within a week.
I think most rank and file Democrats who are not on some kind of Gubmint subsidy have about reached the limit of their patience with these liberal snot eating Democrat politicians who are selling America out.
Before I donate to Osama Mama I want to hear more from her about all those daycare centers the departed bin Laden built.

everyone should just mail her this article (snicker)
Obviously you are taking her quotes out of context. /sarc
She needs the money to give raises to all her underpaid female staffers.
heh, heh, heh
I used to contact her Seattle office asking genuine specific questions and I'd get a canned response every time.
I'd submit another inquiry with the canned response I'd gotten and request a specific reply to the question, never got a single specific answer.
I no longer waste my time, she's pathetically hopeless. :-)
The snot nosed rank and file dimocrats are debating whether or not to give up the free money that they received from the "bigwig" snot nosed dimocrat politicians that was earned by the VRWC workers who don't realize where most of their hard earned labor actually goes.
She fills a niche', the DNC needs her.
‘Zactly. Same here. I laugh at those canned responses.
“She fills a niche’, the DNC needs her.”
Yeah - the idiot in tennis shoes niche...
Maybe Obummer could fly in an get the occutards and massive unemployed in NW Washington to give a little more to pay for his genius programs that Murray supports.
