Mitt Romney not into ‘vision thing’
Politico ^ | 5/27/12 | By REID J. EPSTEIN and GINGER GIBSON

The presumptive GOP nominee has some Republicans worried he lacks the “vision thing” that has hurt previous presidential candidates and haunted George H.W. Bush in his quest to succeed Ronald Reagan.

Some GOP officials fear that their nominee for president has so far failed to articulate a clear and compelling plan for the country if he defeats President Barack Obama in November. Instead of framing his ideas in a positive and specific way — like some of his GOP primary challengers — they say Romney must stop solely running a defensive campaign that leaves voters without a clear idea of where he stands.

I am not a Romney fan.

But I hate to see the coming job the press is going to do on him.

I believe that the majority of people who vote for Romney are actually voting against Obama, and his visions arent going to make a helluva lot of difference.

They both suck it is just a case of Obama’s vision of America as being under the control of the United Nations, or Romney with no vision at all.

After having a president who’s been on TV more in his first year than Castro in twenty, I’m all set with the vision thing.

Obama is America’s skidmark.

No one drops the kind of money that Romney has now and in the past spent and “not have a vision”. He simply does not want to express what that vision is, because no one would vote for him.

Seems like we have seen that play before?

Indeed. We’ve had enough Presidential “vision” to last us for quite some time, thank you very much.

Question is: Do the skid marks lead off the cliff?

His vision is the same as Bushs - big government helping people.

The reason the Left is attacking Romney for “not articulating his plans”, should he be elected, is simply because having this information they would then be able to tear his ideas to shreds and keep Romney constantly on the defensive and off his so far successful message of improving the economy.

Plus, this Administration is so clueless in attempting to fix the economy they would no doubt take Romney’s plan, use it and take the credit for it’s success.

Like Nixon, who had a “secret plan” for ending the war in VN, Romney should likewise keep his plans secret. Let the public color his promise with their own crayons in a way which looks best to them. They will believe what they want to believe as we have seen with the disaster in 2008. Likewise today they want more then anything a better economy and to be able to be less fearful of the future.

If he plays this correctly he can appeal to this sort of thinking

Better no vision than the constant vision of the Obama clown. Tune out, turn off, and watch something besides the idiot in the White House.

I’m all into neighbors helping people. But NOT Big Government “pretending” to help people.

If they ever listened to a Romney speech the article is absurd. Far down in the article they acknowledge he’s released a video listing all the things he would do on “day one”.

Romney is a quick study. He sees that the Kenyan anti-Christ won with vague “hope and change” and “I’m not Bush.”

Romney’s campaign can be based on a vague slogan evoking economic progress and “I’m not Obama.”

He’ll need a few carefully-chosen, focus group-tested specifics that will appeal to large majorities and the discipline to stay on message and remind folks that he’s not Obama, and he’ll do very well.

The template was established in 2008.

This election isn’t about Romney, it’s about Obama and his miserable record. Romney has obviously realized this, and has decided to just lie low and not do anything to disqualify himself as a replacement.

I don’t know if it will work, but we shall see.

To all TEXAS Primary voters: List the top 10 demonstrated positive values for each Candidate for all offices, and vote accordingly.

BTW, let us make this a “clothespin-free” election!

If you value your vote, then vote your values!

Hope you are right.

Anybody but Obozo, BUT my reading on Romney is not good.

His past is not hidden like Obozo and Romney’s Political past haunts him.

So, the POLITICO is going to weigh in on Republican/Conservative values and objectives?

That is like Al Jazeera giving advice to Israel.

I'm NOT so concerned with Mittens' "vision" (or lack thereof)....

....ALL I am concerned about is the SURVIVAL of our Great Republic...

....which is doubtful, if the FASCIST, ISLAMIC-JIHADIST-MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD-APOLOGIST/APPEASER/SUPPORTER, NEO-COMMIE, HATE-AMERICA, Dear Leader gets reelected.

PS: If the the Dept of Homeland [IN]Security and the Fat Beatch's (Big Sis) Jack-Booted Thugs are monitoring this site and looking for "Buzz Words" which will set off alarm bells, hope I've provided you with your day's quota.

Las Astaslem!

-

- Once more the sleezy 99.9% liberal democrat-Socialist media claims that so-called 'anonymous' GOP leaders criticize a Republican candidate.

- The far-left radical Socialist-democrat msm is never content to attempt to choose the Republican candidate; they also choose to try to dictate what the American voters must think about the candidate.

- Let us all remember the mostly creepy dishonest media has been lobbying Obama and Congress for huge unending bailouts and subsidies from the United States taxpayers as liberal newspapers and magazines lose subscribers and other readers - Think of a national monopoly of NPR and PBS-TV radically biased print propagandist machines.

- The ever-censuring media gets it's daily morning talking points and agenda from the Obama Barack Hut and their own daily budget meetings and has no intention of "allowing" American voters to know the truth or even to think for themselves.
