Mitt Romney not into ‘vision thing’
Politico ^ | 5/27/12 | By REID J. EPSTEIN and GINGER GIBSON

Posted on 05/28/2012 6:20:36 AM PDT by Texas Fossil

The presumptive GOP nominee has some Republicans worried he lacks the “vision thing” that has hurt previous presidential candidates and haunted George H.W. Bush in his quest to succeed Ronald Reagan.

Some GOP officials fear that their nominee for president has so far failed to articulate a clear and compelling plan for the country if he defeats President Barack Obama in November. Instead of framing his ideas in a positive and specific way — like some of his GOP primary challengers — they say Romney must stop solely running a defensive campaign that leaves voters without a clear idea of where he stands.

For me as next Tuesday approaches I am facing a sad day. The TX GOP Primary is Tuesday.

It appears the only option I will have in the Primary is vote for Crazy Uncle Ron or vote for Romney. I honestly would rather have Ron Paul than Romney.

Now I know that is a futile effort, but it is how I feel.

After Tuesday my feelings may change, but I feel totally betrayed by the GOP selection process. It is a sad state of affairs when this is the best we can do.

SAD, SICK state of affairs. In a nation that was once FREE.

While Romney is not my 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice, he is far and away a better choice than the surrender monkey.
At least Romney has accomplished something. Romney does not blame every problem in the world on America, Romney would never endorse the likes of Cynthia McKinney for president.
Romney is not perfect by any means, but he is not anywhere near as bad as Cut and Run.
Cut and Run would be worse for America than the wanna be king.

Then you should at least admit to yourself that you are sick of the "conservative" thing aka the "vision" thing. You are willing to take any old POS (i.e. even some POS named Romney) with a GOP label. You even confess preferring the POS Romney to Gingrich or Santorum. Yet, you seem to imagine yourself conservative.

If you succeed at electing Myth, be ready to be reminded of his every shortcoming and failure. You will have volunteered to take responsibility for the POS. Then will come what Ronaldus Maximus called: "A Time for Choosing." Will you try to join the actual conservative Resistance to Myth that starts immediately upon Myth's election (assuming he is elected) or knuckle under for the destruction of the Republican Party and, with it, the Republic itself.

Myth = Obozo = Moloch = Obozo = Moloch =Myth, etc.

Hey, Newbie, why don't you settle in here for a few months at least before ripping on Finny who has been here for nearly ten years. Polite disagreement? Fine. Rank insults are another thing.

First of all it’s none of your business. Are you his mother?

I made a statement to him and the response was a critique of my prose. That’s a personal attack, off the subject and is exactly the way LIBERALS do it.

I don’t really care how long you or anyone else has been on this or any forum. If I am attacked I fight back. You don’t want a fight, then play nice. Go after me for my ideas, no problem, but once it gets personal then I get personal

Do we understand each other? As I told another whiner here who had his sensibilitie tweaked because I am a “n00b”, if I have broken a forum rule, a written rule, then by all means tell me and I shall correct any wrongdoing. Otherwise feel free to ignore anything I say

That a threat, slick? If it is why don’t you come out and say what’s on your mind? I don’t take threats very well, you know? What about you, do you like being threatened?

The cliquish nature of this forum is completely contrary to what it’s stated aims are. Respect is not something someone can demand it must be earned. I give what I get. You can trash my ideas all you want but stay away from the personal crap.

Like I said, tell me what forum rules I have violated and as long as one of them isn’t to let longer term members here dump on me personally, I’ll make the necessary changes.

BTW, I have been a visitor to this forum, following closely the give and take even if I did not join in, for longer then probably 99% of the people who are now active members.

I notice you refused to answer my questions regarding your seeming threat and regarding any rules I may have broken. It is as I would have expected from someone who appears to be all hat and no cow...person.

Resorting to calling me names is merely another sign of your intellect, or rather the lack thereof. You don’t even seem to know the definition of a retread as it applies to forums.

Your incoherent rants are almost liberal like and it makes one wonder.

Well, that’s just sad and pathetic.

I’m looking forward with great pleasure to voting tomorrow.

It’s something we can still do unless we elect Obama for 4 more years ... years in which he will be ‘free’ as he puts it to do more ‘stuff.’

I will happily vote for Mitt Romney. Everything I’ve heard about his plans is good. He’s talking to the right people for advice (Paul Ryan on the budget - John Bolton on foreign affairs). He’s talked about the right people for judges.

He has no particular blemish in his background ... has a lovely wife and a nice family to all appearances.

the hatred for him by some here has done what hate always does.

It’s destroyed compassion and reason.

I’ve seen God dragged into more hateful posts than I could ever imagine.

Enjoy your freedom to vote tomorrow. We have a lot of good conservatives to vote for in the local elections.

Enjoy being able to vote for a presidential candidate who can and will defeat the worst disaster this country has ever had as a president.

I will happily and proudly vote for Mitt Romney and feel sorry for all the people who will stay home and pout.

That is a sick post. What are you some vulture hovering over a new member to this forum wanting him to be zotted or something because he doesn’t agree with you?

You should be thrilled that anyone would join.

A lot of people have left because of abuse by purists like you.

Article is pure propaganda from politico, and they likely decided to run it as a companion piece to their birfer article. What the new kid in town asserted before he was set upon by the Elders is true: Why should Romney show all his cards now when his opposition shows clear signs of disarray and low morale within their ranks and any “vision” would be used against him early and often. This would benefit no one but the zero campaign strategists. Besides he’s laid out some of his agenda, such as repealing Osamacare, and due to its unpopularity with most Americans, they leave that promise alone. So they’re fishing for something else with which to distort and slime Romney. They can monitor internet forums for angles that could play well in some quarters. LOL Why would R campaign bite now? These are slick operatives who know what they’re doing. Thanks for playing Politico, exit stage Left.

You think that it’s vulgar to observe it as such when a behavior is figuratively the same as pissing down one’s pantleg in fear? My, what a delicate flower you are! You must be offended several times a day, or else live an extaordinarily sheltered life.

You'll be voting to defeat Obamanation but the price will be voting FOR a Republican who has governed the same as Obama would on FIVE major issues.

Not so cool and calm, that!
