Don’t live in Michigan, but I would vote for McCotter.

I suspect he'll succeed as a write in.

Another “indispensable man”. At least in his mind.

“Having promised people I would seek another term in the United States Congress and, thereby, give them the chance to vote for or against me, the only way to clean up my mess is to run a write-in campaign for the Republican nomination for Michigan’s 11th Congressional District . . . ”

Well, at least he is taking responsibility . . . but what a flub! The Cook PVI for this district is rated even. So he has his work cut out for him.

Back in 2006 Ohio Democrat Charlie Wilson won his primary via the write in. His half wit son had gathered the signatures to get his dad on the ballot in the wrong district. The son is now a state senator....

If the guy was a flake, cunce or leftist, it would be funny but he is pretty sound for a guy that has to kiss some rust belt but out of Michigan.

I would have been better than a number of the also rans like a few governors that ran in the Primaries and fizzled. Its a shame to have your staff muff one this bad.

I guess I should preview a little better.
cunce was supposed to be “dunce” and the second paragraph shoul have said “He would have been...” instead of “I”.

On second thought, I would have been better than Pawlenty.

But he can run the country just fine.

“A review by The Detroit News of the petition signatures found full copies of a sheet of signatures that were photocopied once and in some cases two times and mixed in with the 136-page stack of signatures. In some cases, a different petition circulator’s name was signed to the duplicate copy.”

At least the rules won’t have to be changed in Michigan like was done for another well known republican candidate.

It’s official.

Whatever happens the democrats are a Larooshie and some random village trustee named Dr. Syed Taj so even if McCotter’s little known GOP challenger Kerry Bentivolio beats him in the primary I’m not worried about the seat, competitive though it is.

I wasn’t keen on McCotter’s no chance attempt at the Presidency but oddly enough I’d have preferred him to most of the other candidates.

How could McCotter be so incompetent as to do this?

Dr. Taj has raised quite a bit of money, so if Bentivolio beats McCotter he’d better do some fundraising if he expects to win.

No.....

Think Obama, diversionary tactics, Gay Marriage, Birth Control etc, while other major issues slip by, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain... "Quo Bono?" "Who Benefits?"

My pet theory? but 1st from background...

* I live in his district.
* IMHO Thad is Republican 1st, Tea Partiers are not as hot on him as before, but wouldn't do something like this.
* An incompetent employee? perhaps...
* A screw up in Lansing, perhaps, but the SOS is a firm Conservative...

So did he have a mole? Again "who benefits?"

Debbie Stabenow....

My theory this is a dirty DNC mole trick to suck up GOP energy and resources. They must have some internals for Stabenow that are horrible (and / or for Obama ) , they need us to spin our wheels, and get bad airplay. If so they are deep deep doo-doo, with Wisconsin going South on them the must be desperate thinking Michigan is next.

Tell me what you think of my theory....

I can think of two high profile Americans of Indian ancestry off the top of my head. One is known by his nickname. Bobby. The other goes by Nikki and has an English sounding last name due to marriage. They are also both Christian.

This isn't the most PC thing to say, but I'm not sure some guy named Syed (sounds Islamic), Dr or not, will get past a guy named Bill Roberts in the primary. There's a lot of Indians in Canton and Troy, but there's also a lot of union whites there and throughout the district, especially up in Waterford and in eastern Livonia. I can easily see some white or black union guy showing up at the polls, and going "I ain't votin' fer no Muslim" and voting for this Bill Roberts guy instead.

This is some penny ante stuff for a grand conspiracy.

Occam’s Razor, Thad’s campaign screwed up.
