“The only source of information for the storage unit search warrant came from Joe Scott, Mr. Duttons ex-wifes boyfriend. Mr. Scott often came to Mr. Duttons apartment to pick up Mr. Duttons daughter for her visitation. During these visits, Mr. Dutton and Mr. Scott discussed firearms, fireworks, and other explosives.”
In the military, he’d have been guilty of Stupid on Station. Who the hell shares that kind of info with the current squeeze of your ex-wife who’s picking up YOUR daughter (whole ‘nother tirade ready THERE) for visitation?
Facepalm, please?

I 'd hazard that "Finky" Joe Scott should be thinking about relocating before this dude gets out of stir. He'll probably spend the next 21 months very carefully planning how to express his displeasure to Mr. Finky without it ever being traced back to him. Someone should spend the next 21 months training monkeys to start his car...

I have considered a storing away sawed-off shotgun. But then I realized there was nothing illegal about keeping an intact shotgun and a hacksaw.
There may be a time of announced inspection prior to my recognizing the brown stuff on the fan.

What a coincidence! They're storing my "Warthog" Thunderbolt II (low and slow over the deck with a couple 30mm'sone Hughes M230 Chain Gun and one General Electric GAU-8/A "Avenger"you can do some
real creative landscaping, real
fast!) until I need to clear my new house lot.
Or something.

You can quibble with someone else on semantics. I'm not playing.
My point is if you tell one person, they tell someone else who tells someone else, and away it goes. What's more, it gets distorted on the way.
That's the sort of crap that leads to rude 4 AM wake-ups and dead pets.
If you don't want it blabbed all over, keep it to yourself.

No. You’re right. I’m probably just overly sensitive. The individual is being attacked on every front...I’m just getting tired of it.
Of course, we’ve got a gun running Dept of Justice—there’s no reason why I shouldn’t expect consistent justice.

Depending on your jurisdiction, there is nothing illegal about buying an NFA-registered $5-tax 12ga AOW either. Heck, I had one on my NY CCW permit. Few things say “government certified good guy” like a Form 4.

—claymore mines arent on my prep list—
Same here. I have an SKS and a couple hundred rounds and a shotgun and about 100 rounds. In fact, the firearms department is where I’m sorely lacking in the preparedness area. With all the wild turkey and Deer around here I should have a lot more ammo and probably a good hunting rifle.
But I’m skeered of the G-man. /s
Actually, guns bore me so it was like pulling teeth to get what I have. I shot a jackrabbit about 30 years ago and a robin back in 1966, but that’s about it. I need to get to practicin’.
Are claymore mines affective against wild boars and Raccoons?
Oh, and sometimes preppers really ARE kinda nuts. Talking about all this stuff to the ex’s boyfriend is beyond stupid. It implies a questionable mindset about the whole thing.

Reminds me of a joke I heard over twenty years ago:
Contents of a post collapse survival kit: A pistol, ammo, and a sheet of paper with the addresses of all the local mormons.

Buying one, if you want your name in a federal weapons registry, is a $5 tax. Making one is a whole lot more expensive penalty (without the license).
But I don’t find the people selling the lawful versions very affordable.

I have a variety of odds and ends which might be creatively adapted in a pinch, but for now, they're just the sort of stuff it's good to have when you live in a 100 year old house.
Anything which goes wrong seems to do so at 3AM on a holiday weekend... so spare parts and materials are a must, as are tools.
