However, from the time of independence for Kenya till his death in 1978, President Jomo Kenyatta was as staunch a US ally you could get in Africa. Some Navy vets of the time might remember port calls in Mombasa. Kenya was solidly on the side of the West during the Cold War.
The Kikuyu’s religion was animist, but the vast majority have become Christians over time. The Kikuyu are not Muslim. Thus Obama was not a Kikuyu, and if not a Kikuyu not a Mau Mau.

As I stated above, Kenyatta was a faithful US ally against the USSR his entire presidency until his death.Even today the Kenyan military is in combat against the Jihadists in Somalia.
