Fayetteville, N.C. — Cumberland County deputies were investigating a fatal shooting at a body shop on Friday.
Authorities say Glenn Gemale Artis, 32, went to H&H Customs, at 4405 Cumberland Road in Fayetteville, around 11:50 a.m. and began arguing with the owner, Freddie Waymon Hudson, 38.
Debbie Tanna, spokeswoman for the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, said Artis and Hudson had an ongoing dispute, but she said she didn't know what sparked it.
"The victim came to the suspect's work today and brandished a handgun. The suspect brandished his handgun and returned fire. There were shots fired," Tanna said.
Artis was wounded, and he was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he died, she said.
Tanna declined to say who fired first and whether Hudson was acting in self-defense.
"What I'm saying is there was an ongoing feud between these two people and that there were shots fired at the business today and one man is dead," she said.

Maybe it’s a fine point of law enforcement minutia, but it sounds from the way the story is laid out that “victim” and “suspect” should be swapped.
Seems like everybody has gripes over poor workmanship and non-delivery of services promised by auto shops.
Well that is the way to take care of it get dead or sue, whatever you prefer.
Maybe he didn’t want to pay a lot for that muffler!
The writer got this exactly backasswards. Just because the perp is dead doesn’t make him a victim or the business owner a suspect.
