Clinton: 'I'm very sorry'

Posted by CNN's Ashley Killough

(CNN) – Bill Clinton regrets the swirl over comments he made earlier in the week in which he appeared to suggest he would be open to extending the so-called Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, the former president said Thursday.

"I'm very sorry about what happened," Clinton said in an interview to air on CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer." "I thought something had to be done on the 'fiscal cliff' before the election. Apparently nothing has to be done until the first of the year."

Republicans seized on Clinton's remarks this week when he said lawmakers will likely put off a series of major spending and budget decisions. They argued the former president was siding with many in the GOP who call for the extension of the controversial tax cuts largely opposed by Democrats.

"[Congress] will probably have to put everything off until early next year," Clinton said Tuesday during an interview with CNBC. "That's probably the best thing to do right now."

The "fiscal cliff" consists of measures set to begin in January that would remove more than $500 billion out of the economy in 2013 alone. Those measures include the expiration of the Bush tax cuts and protection of the middle class from the Alternative Minimum Tax, the onset of $1 trillion in blunt spending cuts, and a reduction in Medicare doctors' pay.

Translation: “Jeez, for once in my life I was honest, and I caught hell for it. Okay. Okay. We have no financial trouble. We don’t have to do anything. There is no debt. Maybe after the election is over there will be a debt and we might have to do something drastic, but for right now — it’s all good. Trust me.”

Sounds like he made it worse. Using the words “fiscal cliff” reminds people that the situation is dangerous. Telling everybody that the administration thinks it is ok to ignore something dangerous until after the election just makes the administration look like it is chicken, and manipulating it’s agenda for election purposes, not for the best interest of the economy.

Apologizing and doubling down at the same time. Wow.

Did he bite his lip? If he did, it means he’s lying. Actually, when he doesn’t bite his lip is also a sign he’s lying.

By allowing the 2003 tax cuts to retire, President “Present” will be increasing the bottom rate from 10% to 15% and the 20% bracket to 25%.

Raising the 10% bracket to 15% represents what percentage of increase? Hint: The correct answer is NOT 5%.

Raising the 20% bracket to 25% represents what percentage of increase? Hint: The correct answer, again, is NOT 5%.

Finally, raising the 35% bracket to 39% represents what percentage of increase: Hint: The correct answer is NOT 4%.

Extra credit question: People in which tax bracket will see the largest percentage of increase in their taxes?

Extra extra credit question: People in which tax bracket will see the smallest percentage of increase in their taxes?

To those moving from the 35% to the 39% tax bracket...that’s roughly an 11% increase in taxes.

From 20% to 25%...that’s a full-blown 25% increase in taxes.

To those moving from the 10% bracket to 15%, their taxes will be increased by a whopping 50%.

So the low-income people get their taxes raised even more when seen as a percentage. And the rich folks lose a higher magnitude of money, but the percentage compared to what they already make is lower.

I get a kick out of seeing that the Obamanoids have sent Bill Clinton to the Commie re-education camp. You might even get the impression that the members of Obama’s “cleanup on aisle seven” damage control team have been instructed by no less than the ghost of Chairman Mao himself.

But few people can do ‘passive-aggressive’ as well as Billy-boy, and so it’s turning into quite the spectacle.

“I thought something had to be done on the ‘fiscal cliff’ before the election. Apparently nothing has to be done until the first of the year.”

Yeah that’s right. you don’t have to worry about a cliff until AFTER you fall off it.

Little Billy must be laughing his ass off when he gets home.

Little Billy is no amateur.

I believe Team Clinton still has the goods on ole Barry,so let's see what happens before the Dem convention.

Sheriff Joe may be getting some help from Little Billy, the trouble-maker?

I hope Bill doubles down a lot (in his sneaky Clintonesque way) and Bambi decides it’s better to seek employment elsewhere. I think Obama is going to win otherwise, because the GOP has selected a candidate who has absolutely nothing going for him except his own personal fortune and is, based on his track record, exactly as leftist as Obama.

Romney’s a leaden, unattractive person, and like Obama, is a member of a flaky cult, so he’s not going to get any automatic vote from anybody except Mormons. They have a lot of money but they don’t have huge numbers.

And even though people don’t approve of Obama’s policies, they claim they like him personally, while nobody except his family and the Mormons seems to like Romney...and the most likeable candidate is generally the one that wins.

That said, I think there are a lot of Dems who don’t want Barry, not because they think he can’t win, but because even they know that he’s taking the country in the wrong direction. They may have no ideological objections, but their wallets are talking to them and their wallets are saying “No more Obama.”

I still think Obama is tired of this gig and is going to find employment in the international sphere. So now the Clintons and others are trying to figure out how to get rid of him while at the same time making friends with the powerful leftists who paid to get him elected.

One can only come to the conclusion that the Chicago
Mafia in the White House or CMITWH, has brought the
club down on ole Bill. These people know secrets and
they twist arms, Bill is lucky they didn’t shoot him
in the knee.

CMITWH it kinda is like CTHULHU isn’t it.
