A California water agency director has been arrested on suspicion of felony child abuse after a neighbour shot and posted an online video of him whipping his stepson with a belt while playing catch.
Imperial Irrigation District Director Anthony Sanchez, 34, was arrested Friday on $100,000 bond according to Sheriff's Lt. Scott Sheppeard after caught hitting the child with a belt in one hand and a baseball glove in the other.
In the video uploaded to YouTube, the stepfather's seen repeatedly beating the boy, even knocking him to the ground, before stepping back to wait for him to toss the ball back which he drops.
After a long stall by the boy who stands frozen in place, the man returns to him - a glove on one hand and a belt in the other - hitting him once again.
The boy can be seen physically upset, holding his body, before Lopez opens his window, calling at him to stop.

I'll say for what seems to be the 1000th time, I am not for a kid getting a whipping for dropping a ball but WE DON'T KNOW THE WHOLE STORY FROM WHAT THE VIDEO SHOWS.

Is this sadist trying to make a pro ball player out of the kid by shipping him? I am GLAD he is arrested and hope you won’t make any more stupid comments. Maybe your dad whipped you when you drank alcohol, cussed out your mother or set the house on fire, but this kid is getting whipped for poor athletic performance, it appears. His father is a sick individual. I always advise my clients to keep their mitts off of step children. It is not their place to beat their spouse’s children.
I totally agree. Ephesians 6:4 says "fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord." If this guy really whipped the boy for just dropping a ball, I'd say that is provoking to wrath.
Did it ever occur to you that if Bill Buckner's father had taken the time had enough fatherly love for his son and would have whipped Little Bill for not catching a ball, that perhaps the Red Sox would have won the 1986 World Series.
A good whipping today may for missing a catch may save your favorite team from losing the World Series.

It was obvious the neighbor was watching the entire thing, and told the dad, "That enough, 'I'm having a f----- problem with you for beating the s--- out of him because he won't catch the damn ball.'"...
The neighbor clearly saw what was happening.
When the Dad mouths off to the neighbor, about him not knowing his son and asked if he had a problem" The neighbor says, "Ya I have a problem with ya teaching your kid to play ball like, that"...Then the neighbor says, "Why don't ya come up here and teach me"

Got so pissed he video taped it, then told the GD dad to knock of off, and basically told the assh*le dad, "Come on up here and try that on me".
I may be twisted, but I never ended up in jail and for that I thank my beloved sainted, departed father.
It is imperative to the game of baseball that one catch a ball each and every time a playable ball is hit to a fielder. Sometimes it will be a fly ball, a pop-up, a line drive or even a tricky grounder, but errors lead to unearned runs which in a big game can be costly and in the long term much more painful than a whipping.
One day, when this kid makes a diving catch to win the World Series, he will know that if were not for his Old Man beating the crap out of him for missing a routine catch back in 2012 that he would not be the hero of a World Championship baseball team.
This wasn't the world series slick.

As a result of the beating he took for missing that one, he didn’t catch many more balls for the people who did so, did he???
Of course it is not the World Series, but one day he will be in the World Series and he will have the focus and discipline to not miss a simple catch.
What would be more painful, a whipping as a child or living the the horrid memory that it was your error that cost your team a World Series?
