There is a Navy proving ground in Aberdeen, MD. Probably testing out of there.

According to the Saulsbury MD newspaper, it crashed on Bloodsworth Island which is in fact nowhere near Saulsbury.

I believe a local Iraqui freedom fighter used a Mosin Nagant rifle loaded with such to take down a BlackHawk back in 2003. Both the pilot and co-pilot did survive the crash.

Along with fully functioning one, so they can put it back together again.

Can't ya just wait till we have more flexibility?

Folks,

Locally, this is reported as a Coast Guard drone. It crashed at Nanticoke, on the eastern shore. That’s the south-east part of Maryland, east of the Chesapeake bay. I don’t know what Coast Guard facility it would have been flying out of.

Aberdeen Proving Ground is Army base, located close to I-95 and bridge over Susquehanna River (northern end of the Chesapeake Bay, on western side of the Bay.

Correct - and Bloodsworth Island was or is one of them (I live on MD's Eastern Shore). FWIW they are now saying it crashed _near_ the island, and also I mis-spelled Salisbury (a prominent local family is named Saulsbury so I make that mistake sometimes).

I think it was spying on preparations for the 63rd annual Chicken Festival. ;)

My husband says that they should not call this a “drone”, which is a term usually used to describe a much cheaper, possibly expendable craft. The Global Hawk, a remotely-controlled UAV, is $40M per aircraft.

He says it was developed by the Air Force, so, of course, this is bound to happen when the Navy tries to fly it.

It is a dark day as the drone tragically crashed onto a cemetery.

Dozens of bodies have been recovered and it is predicted that there may be hundreds more.

“Do you think Maryland will find a way to tax drone hunting permits now?”

Maryland taxes and regulates EVERYTHING. I wouldn’t be surprised if the drone was being employed by the state to look for new forms of personal property to tax. In case you don’t know, the Democrats have a virtual stranglehold over the state legislature. It’s a tax hell for sure.

It was last seen towing this near 5th and Boardwalk when it got tangled in the big kitty from the Kite Loft.

It's rumored that the Maryland State Police are considering asking that the drone fly missions over Tilghman Island to see if Captain Buddy Harrison is conducting any more illegal wet t-shirt contests.
