Minor caveat.
No grand jury or other judicial body has yet determined this is actually what happened.
It would not be impossible for someone to kill a guy and then claim he caught him molesting his daughter.
Given the specifics of the story, that’s not likely in this case, but should be kept in mind as a general rule. Killers don’t always tell the truth.

The Perv/perp was an aquaintence of the father/daughter. The father was protecting his daughter.
Apparently, the perv was a horse groomer and while everyone was in the barn - the guy went in the house and assaulted the little girl. The girls father went back in the house and caught him.
From a different article, It sounds as if the victim is hispanic. They described the grandfather having broken english.
