GOP Sen. Rubio says deportation leniency is 'welcome news'

A GOP senator on the short list to be Mitt Romney's running mate is applauding President Obama's move to forgo deportations for some illegal immigrants.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) said the more lenient policy is "welcome news" for those immigrants who will benefit, though he was quick to knock the administration for acting unilaterally.

“Today’s announcement will be welcome news for many of these kids desperate for an answer, but it is a short term answer to a long term problem," the Cuban-American Rubio said in a statement. "And by once again ignoring the Constitution and going around Congress, this short term policy will make it harder to find a balanced and responsible long term one.”

Rubio's comments are a stark contrast to those coming from other Republicans, who are blasting the new rules as a threat to U.S. jobs and possibly illegal.

Rubio's remarks also further complicate the position of GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, who took a hard conservative stance against illegal immigrants amid the heat of the GOP primary but is now searching for ways to soften that stance in order to appeal to Hispanic voters, who will be vital in a number of swing states.

“I’m concerned about Texas, where Mexican-Americans will be voting Democrats into the Senate and White House within ten years.

When that day comes, American Conservatism will die.”

The cheap labor loving GOP (which includes Romney and Rubio) don’t seem to care that eventually Texas will turn blue just like California did. And without Texas, there’s no electoral math to ever put a Republican in the WH again. My disgust at Obama is normal. I’m more appalled at Romney and Rubio. This move just may have cost Romney the election.

Keep this Trojan Horse off the Republicrat ticket!

We’ve enough globalist RINOs in this center-left party already. Too bad we have to wait to clean house!

Form a ‘Goodbye Rubio’ party.

What Rubio should have said:

Obumbi has just crowned himself Dictator and thus made himself a legal target for capture by our Military Officiers who have pledged ....”“I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic;” and if the POTUS is a domestic enemy, then he is the enemy.

Presidential Oath of Office
I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of the President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.

odumbi has broken his oath. All Military Officers should Arrest him ASAP.

Rubio is throwing a great opportunity away. An opportunity to be a great American Leader and instead grasping to the chance of being a great politician

Rubio vete para el carajo, cobarde.

I just wonder if whites will ever wake up?

Good question, and by their actions we know they won't.

This “leniency” is, and has been S.O.P. for a long time and the extremes on this forum need to own it and celebrate it, not play the hate-filled fools for Obama. We simply cannot create an underclass of people in the U.S.

In Georgia we tried using parolee and unemployed labor instead of Mexicans (who fled the state after harsh rules were passed). Guess what, homey don’t play picking’ crops and millions of $ rotted in the fields.

We are extremely fortunate to have ernest, hardworking Christian Latinos instead of Muslims as our imported labor, and they are grateful for the noblesse oblige of English masters instead of cruel Spaniards.
