Obama's policy strategy: Ignore laws
Politico ^ | June 16, 2012 | STEVE FRIESS

President Obama returned Friday to a trusted tactic — satisfying his political allies by not doing something.

Conservatives were angry when Janet Napolitano announced the administration would stop deporting certain undocumented immigrants but they should have seen it coming. On issue after issue - gay rights, drug enforcement, Internet gambling, school achievement standards - the administration has chosen to achieve its goals by a method best described as passive-aggressive.

Rather than pushing new laws through a divided Congress to enact his agenda, Obama is relying on federal agencies to ignore, or at least not defend, laws that some of his important supporters - like Hispanic voters and the gay community - don't like.

"If the president says we're not going to enforce the law, there's really nothing anyone can do about it," University of Pennsylvania constitutional law professor Kermit Roosevelt said. "It's clearly a political calculation."

"If the president says we're not going to enforce the law, there's really nothing anyone can do about it,"

.... Actually there IS something we can do about it: make sure he doesn't get a second term. And face reality that the ONLY way to do that is by getting out and voting for Romney.

Those who were deluding themselves that "it's OK, if Obama gets reelected, as long as we manage to get a Republican Congress" should think of the Healthcare law AND Obama's recent act of giving amnesty via executive order.

ABO!!!

The primaries are over, ABO IS Romney.

BS. Yes there is. And no need to elaborate.

That is why the founding fathers left us the impeachment tool. Use your tools or they grow dull and rust away.

And a lot of good it did for us, that Clinton was impeached.

There are elections cominmg up in November — THAT is the time to go and vote, to make sure Obama doesn’t get a second term.

And as I said, like it or not, the ONLY WAY to deny Obama a second term is to vote for Romney.

My greatest fear from Obama and his minions is being realized. He and his lackeys in the media are seeing that the next presidential election will be a loss for the Democrats, therefore he needs to get all these socialist/liberal/democrat policies and programs in place before the November election and have them set in concrete before January 20th. With the House being held by the Republicans, he can't get anything legally through congress so he's (mis)using the Executive Orders to put these programs and policies in place by dictate. Undoing these Executive Orders should be Romney's first order of business.

Note that Politico highlights the potential of a republican president doing the same and the dire consequences. (What if Romney didn’t enforce Obamacare?)

There’s 10’s of 1000’s of laws, the US is a country of the lawyers, by the lawyers, and for the lawyers. You have a right to a risk free life.

It’s been that way for decades. Which set of laws apply to you? Do you get the average Joe set, the celebrity set, or the insider set? I think it needs a period of lawlessness to be fixed.

A leader bound by no law? What could possibly go wrong?

Romney will be elected in a landslide because he is ABO.

But I won’t vote for our flavor of socialist. I have my standards.

Just think back at the Bush v Gore election, with Bush winning FL by some 500 votes.

Your non-vote may be what gives Obama a second term. How can you sleep at night?

This guy is full of sh**! We can impeach Bozo for failing to uphold the laws of this country, the constitution says so. This "constitutional law professor" is obviously in the tank for Bozo. He knows this is an impeachable offense.

These violations of our Constitution's division of powers, separation of the powers of the federal government, its checks and balances on the strictly-limited powers it does grant to the Legislative, Executive, and Judiciary powers can, and must, be reined in by "We, the People" if the light of liberty is to be a beacon for oppressed peoples of the world.

The Constitution provides within itself the only means by which its protections and limits on coercive government power can be changed. Thomas Jefferson described "the People's" power as "chains", on elected officials, as in his admonition, ". . . bind them down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution."

This President chafes and complains that the Constitution doesn't allow him to do what he wants to do, but then he goes ahead with actions which tests the limits of Executive power by enacting policies, properly defined, that amount to "legislating" instead of "executing" that which the Legislative Branch legislates.

By doing so, he and his fellow "progressives" rely on what they believe to be the ignorance of "the People," described by Justice Story ("Commentaries on the Constitution . . . .") as being "the only KEEPERS" of that Constitution.

The time has come for citizens to study the principles underlying their Constitution--principles designed to leave an orderly means of control of the men and women they elect to serve them.

I think James Madison and most of the delegates to the Constitutional Convention, with the possible exception of Alexander Hamilton, would be horrified at the amount of unchecked power modern Presidents have managed to accumulate. We are dependent on their own patriotism and their own sense of what they can get away with--which counts for very little if the President is a Democrat.

George III was a mere figurehead compared to the modern-day Presidents. And he didn't make the citizens pay for his trips to fundraisers.

The flaw in your argument is its reliance on Romney as (in his words) “severely conservative.” For my part, I have no confidence that Romney, if elected, would draw a firm line on immigration matters.

With the exception of my 6th great grandfather, John Carpenter (a neighbor, close associate, friend and revolutionary brother in arms of one George Washington) in my paternal grandmother Robinson’s family, my other English and German ancestors waited in sometimes years long lines, got on a hot, crowded, rickety ship, crossed the Atlantic and arrived at Ellis Island.

My wife’s English and Irish ancestors also waited in sometimes years long lines, got on a hot, crowded, rickety ship, crossed the Atlantic and arrived at Ellis Island.

There they were deloused, given a cursory medical exam, interrogated, their immigration papers checked and, with just what they were able to carry, took the ferry to the mainland to begin their lives as “Americans.” Those who did not have a complete grasp of English soon undertook formal and informal of the native language and the rest, as they say, is history.

That’s how it USED TO BE DONE.

The 14th Amendment, INTENDED by the drafters to ONLY grant citizenship to emancipated slaves by overturning the Dred Scott decision, has been tortured beyond recognition by the radical left to also include so-called “anchor babies” born to Latinas who stroll across the border to download junior HERE to bypass all the normal immigration processes described above. As an intern in a San Diego ER, my late niece caught many of those babies as part of her OB/GYN training.

By executive fiat, today Obama just took the first step to COMPLETELY open our borders (trust me, it is the first step only!) His action makes FOOLS of those who, like our great-great grandparents, played by the rules. It also makes fools of those waiting in those overseas lines to come here THE RIGHT WAY!!!

A wag declared that a nation without borders is NOT A NATION!!

A Latino “immigration lawyer” on FNN this morning said that if Congress doesn’t like it, they can change the law. He went on to say “THEY DON’T HAVE THE GUTS.” Sadly, he’s right. But if these clowns on Jenkins’ Hill think those latinos (legal and illegal) are going to vote for the GOP, they should be careful to not let their minds wander: They’re too small to be out alone.

Not that it would do any good, I called my congresscritters’ (202-224-3121) this morning to ask when they plan to offer Articles of Impeachment for this, the Law of the Seas Treaty, the activities of Holder, et al, the waste of taxpayer bucks on the green jobs idiocy, etc., etc. I’ll spare you the entire list as it runs to a few hundred pages. If impeachment is not their plan, I asked them to have the decency to RESIGN as the first branch of this government is clearly no longer needed and Obama could use the bucks saved to help buy the coming “election” or perhaps resume his taxpayer funded World Tour.

Bottom line? If you are STILL unconvinced that this guy is a clear and present danger to YOUR way of life, you probably live in a refrigerator crate behind a vacant warehouse. And if that is NOT your current living condition, re-elect this guy and it shortly will be.

Will Myth Romney ("Celestial God-Child from Planet Kolob") ...

FAIRLY ENFORCE the NATION'S LAWS ...

in the same "White-and-Delightsome" way that mormon founder ...

Joseph Smith (liar, murderer, self-proclaimed "god") ...

and Myth Romney's "perfect" moral and spiritual role model ...

did ?

Especially with respect to Joseph Smith's DESTRUCTION of the Navoo Expositor ...

a newpaper published by Joseph Smith's "most loyal friends" ...

after they called him to ACCOUNTABILITY ?

Me thinks that Myth Romney would PREFER to follow Joseph Smith's DESPICABLE example ...

rather than say, a Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum ... etc.

I tremble at the idea that a "self-proclaimed-god" like Myth Romney ...

would EVER have "executive authority" ...

over the CIA, FBI, NSA, NRO ...

.
