Even he knows better, or at least he should. That man, Barack Obama. After all he claims to be a Constitutional Law professor. But, on Friday, the President blew it.
I understand that there are at least as many different ideas of how to fix the illegal immigration problem as there are Members of Congress. So, it comes as no surprise that the President also has some thoughts on the subject particularly as the election draws near.
But, when I heard him announce his executive order which changes existing law, I bristled. The Constitution is very clear about separation of powers; the Congress makes laws, the executive branch administers them.
Obama knows it, too. In September 2011 in response to pressure to take this same action he said, "this notion that somehow I can just change the laws unilaterally in just not true there are laws on the books that I have to enforce we live in a democracy. You have to pass bills through the legislature, and then I can sign it."
Earlier in 2011, Obama said the same thing to La Raza; "The idea of doing things on my own is very tempting. But that's not how our system works." And, on Univision he said, "Congress passes the law. The executive branch's job is to enforce and implement those laws. And then the judiciary has to interpret the laws. There are enough laws on the books by Congress that are very clear in terms of how we have to enforce our immigration system that for me to simply through executive order ignore those congressional mandates would not conform with my appropriate role as President."
What changed since then? Did I miss an Amendment to the Constitution?
No. Barack Obama just trampled on it again. The great Charles Krauthammer summed it up best, "This is out-and-out lawlessness." See the Fox News video below. Full text of his comments is here.

You ain’t seen nuthin’ yet! Just wait until after November (it doesn’t matter which way the election turns out).
I wish Dr. Krauthammer had gone a bit further, to outline a remedy that the low IQ congress could then try and comprehend and use to do something about this out and out lawlessness.
Obumo knows exactly what he’s doing. He’s counting on his vaulted audacity to cow the sheeple. And charges of racism, and hints of racial unrest. Fear, anger, indignation, false charges, willing co-conspirators. The great divider will be very active between now and 1//20/13.
the communists say it’s legal if “one at a time”...
Even more stunning than Obama’s power grab and his spitting on the constitution is that not one democrat has spoken out against this lawlessness. It’s all too obvious that they all put party above their country. The Democrt Party is a party completely void of principles.
There’s actually nothing Congress can do. Obama has foound a way to rule by instructing the Justice Dept to NOT enforce the laws of the land. The only recourse for the people and for Congress is to elect another President, one who WILL enforce the laws, uphold the Constitution and his oath of office. [His oath of office is what he has violated]
Odumbo isn’t the Anti-Christ.
But if you checked his scalp, you might find a 665.....
you are so right, no commiecrat speaking out nor romney. It is unbelievable what is going on and hoping steve king lawsuit can stop the crap.
With the current anti-Rule-of-Law minions, at some point, you’ll know what you have to do. God help us all.
First, I must say, I do not hold that Obama is the antichrist. I don’t think he fits the Biblical blueprint, at least from the little we know of him.
Nonetheless, I will note that as of 6/20/2012 (this Wednesday), he will have been in power for 3.5 years. I suppose if I’m wrong, I’ll know more then.
“Sin is... being out of alignment with my values” -
Barack Hussein Obama, April 4, 2004
Do you expect someone of this worldview to respect any law other than his own?
If he has qualms about whether a law is constitutional, he can issue a statement, suspend enforcement, and ask the Supreme Court to review the issue; if they say it's OK then he continues his job of executing that law even if he doesn't like it.
A gratuitous refusal by the chief executive to execute established law, just as a matter of buying votes, and doing so by favoring active criminal behavior and the severe consequences thereof upon an already staggering economy, demands immediate impeachment for a host of reasons.
A president can be impeached for violtaing his oath to OUR Constitution, but it requires a legislature who are not also violating their oaths, which we do not have, sadly.

When he loses in a landslide this November will he voluntary give up his throne to Romney?
