McConnell: 'We're Pretty Unhappy' About Obama's Immigration Mandate

(CNSNews.com) - Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) said on Friday he will seek a court order to stop the Obama administration from halting the deportation of illegal aliens who were brought to this country as children.

But King is one of the few Republicans talking about a lawsuit.

On Monday, Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) was asked what Congress will do about the Executive Branch setting mandatory immigration policy without congressional authority.

"Well, one thing -- we thing it ought to require legislative action," McConnell told Fox News anchor Martha McCallum. "The way you get these things done is to have a bipartisan discussion."

McCallum persisted: "But if the White House has gone around Congress in a way that is not above-board, is Congress going to hold the White House's feet to the fire on this and force them to go through Congress, is my question."

"Well, that would require court action, I assume," Sen. Mitch McConnell told Fox News on Monday. "But yeah, I think we're pretty unhappy with the fact that they have now decided to do something they claimed they couldn't legally do a year ago."

McConnell said Obama's decision "raises quite a suspicion that this is all just about trying to ingratiate himself with Hispanic voters."

On Friday, Rep. King told radio host Mike Huckabee, "I’m prepared to bring a suit and seek a court order to stop implementation of this policy."

You plan to sue the administration? Huckabee asked. “That is correct,” King said.

The last I knew... even legal immigrants cannot vote in our elections (at least general elections). They must be here for a certain number of years and I think they also need to become US Citizens before they can vote. I also think it’s 5 years in the US before you can apply for citizenship.

That being said you can bet all you got in the bank that not only are legal immigrants vote in the general but also illegals vote in the general. In many places they do not even ask for your ID and they would fear being sued if they were to actually come out and ask for proof of citizenship or even legal status.

If you are in MN there is almost certainly a Somali version of the voter registration application form,

English: http://www.co.washington.mn.us/_asset/0xclys/ELE--2008-Fill-in-VR-with-Tennessen-Warning-B.pdf

which tells the applicant to STOP and not complete the form if they've checked the non-citizen box.

Somali: http://www.co.washington.mn.us/_asset/hs9905/ELE-Somalivrcard.pdf

Ma tahay muwaadin Maraykan? □ Haa □ Maya
1. Ma noqon doonta muwaadin maalinta doorashada soo socota ama ka hor? □ Haa □ Maya
Haddii aad mid ka mid ah su’aalaha sare kaga jawaabtay “MAYA”, HA BUUXIN foomkan.

(Sorry, no Google Translate for Somali. Yet.)

The "sponsors" of these "immigrants" didn't educate them well about the ways of their new country.

Don’t think for a moment that they don’t vote. They do and they have been for quite a few years now.

Personally I do not think Obama will gain many votes from illegals because of this executive order simply because they’ve been most likely voting already anyways.

Probably not.

The photo you posted ... I suppose I shouldn’t say this but what the heck ... In that photo, doesn’t Obama look like he’s leaning over to pass gas?

It took 13 posts but you nailed it.

Republicans are FOR this and ALL the moves from the Left that they do not fight.

Why it is we can’t get the picture, I’m sure I don’t know.

The two parties have melled into one, and the GOPE serve the severely socialist wing of it, while Obama and Romney serve the Progressive wing.

Romney is a self proclaimed Progressive and Obama is a self proclaimed Progressive.

Anyone get the picture?

Yeah, he does! hahahaha!

The photo is also a bit odd in that Obama doesn’t seem connected to Miss Nancy or Reid. Nancy and Reid look like angry children at the dinner table. McConnell looks a bit perturbed and third wheel. Boehner is the only one that has his iced tea on his place-mat. It appears that Obama and Boehner are the only ones engaged.

It’s an odd and awkward picture. I don’t think the pow-wow accomplished jack but it sure sullied Boehner a bit more. It is a WH photo....

Trying to figure out what McConnell is saying through his drool, drawl and spittle is next to impossible. But, I'll bet he's thinking:

“Well, what did they get accomplished at this discussion?”

Answer? See Potsdam Conference.

Obama is going around congress and also appears to be going around the supreme court, anticipating a favorable ruling toward Arizonia immigration law.

"McConnell is worthless."

He sounds like a FAG.
He and most of our other congressman have NO BALLS.
99.9% of them don't know they work for US. They think we work for them, and the way things are now guess what? We Do.

Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell

What an absolute wimpy little man. I have to walk away from the TV each and every time I see or hear this poor little excuse for a man.

As a matter of fact he reminds me of some cartoon character of past but I can’t remember it’s name.

The only thing this wimp will leave the world with when he passes is an elevated world temperature of 5 degrees due to all of the hot air he has produced through his career. He’s produced nothing tangible, only hot air.

LOL! He does me too. I cant think of who but I can almost hear the voice of a henpecked husband. Almost like the henpecked husband, Mr Tuttle in the Jerry Lewis movie "Who's Minding The Store".

The law says the executive branch of the federal government has to deport illegal aliens.

Obama signed an EO that forces executive branch employees to disobey the same law.

And the Majority Leader of the U. S. Senate says he ASSUMES it would take some sort f court action to countermand Obama’s EO? He hasn’t had his staff research the matter at all?

Fire the both of them, Obama AND McConnell.

(Yeah, I know McConnell isn’t up for re-election until 2014.)
