Even before the Republicans chose a presidential nominee it was widely assumed that Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., would be at the top of anybody’s list of vice presidential candidates. The reasons are obvious: Not only is he young, charismatic and wildly popular with conservatives, but he could also help Republicans win a key state (Florida) and make inroads with Hispanics.

Good. First, we should not take ANY conservative (even one who has pro-illegal leanings) out of the Senate. This would be beyond stupid. We need EVERY conservative in the Senate we can muster. Second, we cannot even consider taking a swing-state conservative Gov (Kasich or Walker). Those guys may be needed in the election.

How do you know that? We have yet to see what anything that could pass as authentic by Barack Hussein Obama. Yes, I know what you're saying about Obama's parents but I grew suspicious (very suspicious) when they came out with that PDF of layers less than a week after Hawaii announced they could not find the longform. For all we know, Obama was born outside the country and has spent his life with stolen ssn which by itself is grounds for impeachment and prison time.

Let me see the original document showing me where Obama was actually born and his passport. Then I will conclude whether or not he's as ineligible as Marco Rubio.

The Hispanic vote that was lost never was ours to begin with. Those illegals that vote in 2012 have been voting probably before they were 18 years old. That's what being illegal is. You break the law and when you break the law you vote for the party that soft on law breakers - The democrat party.

Obama will gain less than expected from this group and lose more than expected from other groups. Americans (black, whites, asians and legal latinos) are out of work. This will not go over well with them.

In order for Obama to gain from this action he's going to have to make speeches about how he is the one that got them working. THAT is not going to go over very well when unemployed Americans see that.

I’d like to hear more about Governor McDonnell of Virginia. This notion that the party must find an Hispanic VP candidate in order to pander to that group is a total loser. Cuba makes claim to Marco Rubio as one of their own citizens. Rubio was born to Cuban citizens at the time of his birth. Cuba ONLY sees him as Cuban. They do not recognize Rubio's US 14th Amendment citizenship.

The constitution says ‘natural born Citizen’. I was very clear what that was and still is. The immigration act of 1790 made it clear that being born to two US Citizens was the key criteria and would allow one to be ‘considered as’ a natural born Citizen. Note that punctuation (no hyphen) and capitalization of the C in the act were exactly that of the Constitution. Congress wanted to drop the jus soli requirement and rely solely on jus sanguinis. So blood is thicker than dirt when it comes to being an nbC.

The situation with Rubio and Jindal, who I really like as well, is probably much more cut and dry than Obama’s.

Both of their parents were not yet US citizens at the time of there birth. So their parentage citizen status is better defined than Obama.

I think if the Obama case ever got into court on its merits they would rationalize that a US citizen mother gives him jus sanguinis. But that case can not be made for Rubio or Jindal.

If you have to look to a law - including the 14th Amendment - you are naturalized and not natural born.

- The socialists maintaining control of the presidency (via their guy with an “R” after his name) and STRENGTHENING their lock on the republican party AND (because of the “team” mentality) short circuiting any opposition from the GOP in congress. Plus, this has the value added benefit of making the socialists true enemy (folks like me) HOMELESS. What homeless army ever won a war?

Understanding the nature of this war and the nature of the enemy I will take the option where socialism is dealt the most damage. This means denying them control of the GOP, strengthening the anti-socialist control within the GOP. Strengthening GOP control of congress and enabling them to oppose everything the socialists attempt to inflict upon us. This also means defeating romney if he is the GOP candidate.

A good man for Virginia. And maybe a good candidate eventually to replace Mark Warner in the U. S. Senate.

But “Bobby Mack” would be a very weak choice for GOP VP nominee. I think he’s just not ready for prime time on the national stage. Not a forceful speaker — even might be described as mush-mouthed.

Worse, IMO, McDonnell has an unfortunate tendency to commit gaffes when facing hostile interviewers. This characteristic says he probably would be bested in the VEEP debates even by such a klutz as Slowjoe Biden!

Bottom line for me:

Now that Rubio seems to have been put on the side-lines, Scott Walker looks more and more like the best bet.
