Elizabeth Warren for President? Democrats' Barren 2016 Bench

Regardless of whether the president wins re-election, the Obama era will be over before long. Democrats will have to find a new leader on whom to pin their hopes. But who?
I went to a conference of liberal activists this week hoping to find out whom the party's activist base sees as its up-and-coming stars. But the exercise turned out to be revealing largely for how unprepared people were to answer the question. Nearly every answer I got began with a blank stare or incredulous laugh, followed by some fumbling around, followed by "Elizabeth Warren."

I pressed Ellison for names for 2016, and he thought for a moment. "If we can get Elizabeth Warren through in Massachusetts, she could end up being a presidential candidate," he finally said. "She's super."

She beats Hillary in straw polls. The Democrats have lost their minds.
Of course the country is sliding deeper into the morass of liberalism, but I don`t think the table will be set yet for Chief Elizabeth Nose of Much Fur Warren by 2016. She`s still a bit outside what passes for “mainstream.”

I don’t think they ever had any to lose. Remember that these are the same guys who told us we should amend the Constitution so that Jennifer Granholm could run for President. And remember that Gray Davis was once touted as a possible Presidential candidate. And afterall, they gave us John Edwards. And John Kerry. And Al Gore.
Their gray matter disappeared long ago, if they ever had any at all.

That said, with their best an brightest? being toasted in court, or in jail, the libs don’t have much to offer themselves.

Well the current occupant of the White House lied about his background and the MSM just looked the other way during his 2008 campaign so I suppose the same would be true for Warren with her phony background.

I’d bet O’Malley myself. Really good looking guy with the same sort of vacuous “cool” vibe as Obama with an Irish everyman schtick to boot.
And I think he definitely wants it.
Main Handicap is being from Maryland - I think the Dems would prefer (or should, if they want to win) someone from a larger swing state.
Eh, the reason these activists say Warren is because they’re making the choice for the same reason not-very-bright Conservative activists promote unelectable and polarizing candidates; they’re choosing who they would get the most self-sastisfaction out of winning, and who they think would enrage the other side the most if they won. It’s the same as naming Gingrich or Palin.
