"I question the definition of “hard core” if it rises to the level of 9% of the entire US population."

The poor you will always have with you, right? But I'm not nearly as altruistic as Our Lord; however if there's a paradigm where it's flat-out cheaper to keep them out of the emergency room, I want US to find it.

"When all of these factors are put together, the 2003 BlueCross BlueShield study determined that 8.2 million Americans are actually without coverage for the long haul, because they are too poor to purchase health care but earn too much to qualify for government assistance. Even being without insurance still doesn't mean they won't have access to care, because federal law forbids hospitals from denying treatment to patients who show up at the emergency rooms." - Spectator.org, The Myth of the 46 Million

To do otherwise would be legislating from the bench. On top of that, cam you imagine going through 2700 pages?

When that was suggested, Scalia commented, “What about the eighth amendment?” The court erupted in laughter.

Liberalism isn’t the biggest problem facing America. It’s that people fall for style over substance in general.

Excellent point. The dumbing down of the population, purposely done in our public schools since the unions took hold, is having its desired outcome. Politicians have to pare down their message to be understood by the simpleminded. So it becomes less a matter of character and policy. And the liberal media encourages it with their constant polls that ask which candidate you like better (nothing to do with ability or integrity or policies).

FNC is saying there will be no ruling today on healthcare or AZ immigration.

TWC is weighing in on politics? Heh!

I’m thinking their political analysis is probably no more reliable than their weather forecasts.

The stupidity and naivete of voting age Americans is absolutely breathtaking - almost as if they have been brainwashed.

They have. In our very liberal public schools. The dumbing down and started with the unions to a stranglehold, starting about in the 1960s. That's a lot of generations now.

At first their delay in the announcement and adding days next week had me steaming mad. So mad that there was smoke coming out of my ears. I felt like the court was severely messing with us (the people.)

Then I thought about it and I now think that the court is messing with the administration. I think they are giving a jab back at Obama for his SOTU speech....

(taking deep breaths now)

If Congress where to "do their job" in regards to health care, they'd leave it the f*ck alone. There is no Art 1 Sec 8 power to control our healthcare system.

I do want some health care law reform, but that basically entails having Congress repeal their previous stupid laws (like prohibiting insurance companies from offering across state lines). Some tort reform would be good, too.

Of interest in the Southern Union opinion is the deference given to Colonial era judicial practice, hence original intent.

and the entitlement drones who are living in their mother’s basement, sitting on the couch watching TV with oatmeal dribbling down their chins...waiting for their unemployment check to arrive.

NO DECISION TODAY on Immigration or Healthcare. Decisions may become Monday.

Didn't think we would see controversial decisions today. They may want to hold them for the last session (next Thurs?) so they can be out of DC when heads start exploding.

They didn’t announce Monday was the last day, that was speculation. As it’s not announced, that implies there may be decisions released beyond Monday.

I can see Kagan now.. Dangling her pearls and winking at Kennedy. Ewwwwwww... Don’t fall for it, Kennedy! She’s Obama’s ‘psy ops queen’! Here’s a portion of her ‘ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS’ in her college thesis, “TO THE FINAL CONFLICT: SOCIALISM IN NEW YORK CITY, 1900-1933”:

“Finally, I would like to thank my brother Marc, whose involvement lin radical causes led me to explore the history of American radicalism in the hope of clarifying my own political ideas.”

This whole thing is getting silly now. The only people that dont know anything are we the people. Skip the fanfare, and make the announcement how you ruled. Why all the BS, send a fax and lets get on with it..

I’m getting tired of this as well. I’ve been on pins and needles all week. I was hoping they would give their opinion today so I could enjoy the weekend. Even if the decision goes against us, at least the waiting would be over. I feel like what it must feel like to be a defendent in a criminal trial who is waiting and waiting for the jury to come in and they just keep making me wait.

The SCOTUS knows their decision. Why are they making us wait? I can’t stand it!!!!!
