Because no matter how badly the law is flaunted by this administration the MSM will refuse to generate the kind of heat in their reports that gets the public's attention.

Perhaps you meant flouted? (A dictionary will show the difference.)

But with this little change your intended point seems well-made and correct ---

Hey, smart ass, perhaps you’ll note that I immediately corrected the grammar. I know what is and what is not correct. YOU are the one who has the problem that I pointed out.

Flaunt works as well. But the point is made.

"Hey, smart ass, perhaps you’ll note that I immediately corrected the grammar. I know what is and what is not correct."

You do? Then why did you do it wrong in the first place? And like I said you gotta admit that is damn funny. A "Grammar Nazi" making a grammar mistake when pointing out a mistake in another post. That is "doubleplusgood".

Thanks for the laugh Sparky! hahahah

Yes, in fact, I should have looked up "flaunt" in a dictionary before making my comment (which I now have).

Normally "flaunt" is taken to mean "to parade or display ostentatiously"; but, when used as an transitive verb, it may be interpreted as "to ignore or treat with disdain," depending on the context. Without clear context, it would be ambiguous, whereas "flout" could never leave the reader in question if that was what the writer meant.

My education in the English tongue is thus improved. Thanks!

You still have not addressed the issue. The issue, in case you have forgotten it, is your failure to understand the rules on capitalization of common nouns and proper nouns.

The way you write suggests that you are not quite an adult. How old are you, anyway? Fifteen? Seventeen, max.

"You still have not addressed the issue."

Oh I see the problem now Oldpossum. You are under the illusion that I give a flying frack what you consider the "issue" is.

Here is the issue Sunnyboy. You wanted to play "Snarky, the Grammar Nazi" and ended up embarrassing yourself by posting a sentence wherein you confused the usage of "is" and "are" while berating me on the usage of capitalization. Which is about the funniest thing I've had the pleasure of reading on Free Republic this year.

In fact it is so deliciously "Ironic" that I expect Websters Dictionary to use your blunder as an example of the word "Irony" in a future edition. (Copies of this testimonial may be picked up in the lobby as you leave the theater.)

OK, fine.

You probably don’t have the knowledge to correct your errors, anyway.

Obama has stepped in it big time, yet the Lame Stream Media continues to lick his boots clean.
