Minnesota flood: ‘We feel overwhelmed’ [Obamugabe's FEMA absent, will take "several days"]
Morris Daily Herald ^ | 6/22/12 | Larry Oakes, Richard Meryhew and Matt McKinney

As residents here filled dumpsters with ruined possessions Thursday and state officials surveyed gaping sinkholes and an estimated $100 million in damage from historic flooding, water suddenly rose farther south, forcing more evacuations.

In Moose Lake, about 40 miles south of Duluth, city officials declared a state of emergency as water encroached and surrounded the town. Well into the evening, residents desperately sandbagged trying to hold back rising water. Some won. Some didn’t...

Officials are scrambling to come up with damage assessments Dayton can use to request federal disaster assistance from FEMA, a process expected to take several days.

Remember Katrina? Bush was RIPPED by the media for not having FEMA already in place and ready to help. Obamugabe is getting a pass.

How many fundraisers has Obamugabe had since people started losimg homes to fires and floods.

Bush declared the disaster before Katrina hit ( a first) and had FEMA on the roll- only to be stopped at the state border because of the Stafford Act- Blanco did not authorize FEMA assistance, so the out-of-state National Guard and FEMA could not legally operate inside the state.

It’s pretty bad, bridges out, rail lines washed out, many structures severely damaged. Yes, the news has been a bit thin. Some of that is because, IMO, the media is chanting LALALALA to blick Eric Holder news and Obama-amnesty news.

Or it could simply be that the Fed response to teh flooding makes The 0ne look bad.

Perhaps because The One chose to not wave his hand and prevent it from happening.

Facts such as you have stated do not matter to the liberals.

The liberals pushed their narrative, which was that Bush ignored the suffering caused by Katrina. The message was eagerly reinforced by the lapdogs in the media, who were eager to do the bidding of the liberals. Useful idiots such as rapper Kanye West reinforced the message that Katrina was a racist event.

I remember that Bush signed the disaster order even before Katrina hit. He took what actions he legally could beforehand, as we knew this was a huge storm.

I have barely heard about the Minnesota floods in the MSM. I think we see that the media will just ignore things which they don’t want to talk about.

Remember the historic Nashville floods of 2010? Didn’t think so. The media almost completely ignored that one too. I have yet to hear Obama speak of that event.

Americans have a totally wrong idea of what FEMA is and what they do in the process of recovering from disasters.

IF King Tut declares the area a disaster, they will help the local community pay to rebuild the infrastructure and give temporary housing payment assistence to those made homeless by the disaster. In really poor areas they will set up nasty trailers for those flooded out of their homes. THAT IS ALL. Aid and support comes from one another.

Everyone and their insurance companies are responsible for their own rebuilding/recovery of losses. If they don’t have flood insurance, they are up the creek.

“If they don’t have flood insurance, they are up the creek.”

Maybe under the creek.

You won't. White? Obama hates them. Christians? Obama hates them. Conservatives? Obama hates them. No aid for you.

Floods suck. My little town, Ottawa, Ohio, was innundated by nearly 13" of rain in August 2007. This is Main Street, right in front of my office:

Photobucket

85% of the homes in town had water inside, and approximately 40 of them were torn down after. Another 25 or so were raised. I had two feet of water in my office and spent four months restoring the office while still conducting business. All because of some rain! :)

Floods suck.

While Duluth does not have a high percentage of blacks like NO,LA has, it CERTAINLY has a majority of RATS in the state. Obama missing is maybe a sign of things to come, maybe like what happened in neighboring liberal WI?

And Bush the Elder after Hurricane Andrew. It took 2-3 days before federal help rolled into S. Fla. and the dems complained bitterly about the delay.

Duluth doesn’t need minorities.
They’re already confused.

Obamugabe's FEMA absent, will take "several days"

FEMA's priority lies in preparing the camps for the conservative resistance expected when he declares martial law.
