Mary Cheney, the openly gay daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, has married her long-time partner Heather Poe, The Daily Caller has learned.
Cheney spokeswoman Kara Ahern confirmed to TheDC that the couple married Friday morning in Washington, D.C.
In a statement provided to TheDC, both the former vice president and his wife, Lynne, said they are “delighted” the couple could have their “relationship recognized.”
“Our daughter Mary and her long time partner, Heather Poe, were married today in Washington, DC,” the Cheneys said.
Poe and Mary Cheney have two children: Cheney gave birth to a son in 2007, and a daughter in 2009. They live together in Virginia.
“Mary and Heather have been in a committed relationship for many years, and we are delighted that they were able to take advantage of the opportunity to have that relationship recognized,” the Cheneys said. “Mary and Heather and their children are very important and much loved members of our family and we wish them every happiness.”
“We are all so happy for Heather and Mary and their beautiful kids,” friend and former Cheney adviser Mary Matalin told TheDC. “Happy and moved by the blessing of their commitment and strength.”
Gay marriage is an assault on the natural family. It should not be sanctioned by the government and is nothing but an attempt at destabilizing society and depopulation: marxist goals both.

I would treat it as any other sinful lifestyle. If one of my adult children came to me and said "I've taken up practicing witchcraft." I wouldn't disown them, but I would certainly let them know that didn't approve of their lifestyle, nor would I attend any ceremonies or allow it to be practiced under my roof. The same with homosexuality. I would be doing a disservice to tell them, "Oh, that's just fine! I'll support you no matter what!"

I love Dick Cheney, and hate to say it, but I draw the line at kids. If she and her partner wanted to live alone it’s one thing. But the research shows now, it’s a bad deal for the kids, which will not get them any sympathy from me. (Dick is another story, God bless him).
If I carried a latent viral infection, which would make any dog I had mildly sick, I wouldn’t have any dogs, ever. I’d rather know that the dogs I would have had, were healthy and loved elswhere. Why people don’t feel this way with their own kids is beyond me.

[ Perhaps all your gay friends are the exceptions to the rule but I have never met a truly “happy” homosexual. They are consistently never able to maintain a real romantic relationship which is coupled by at least moderate mental issues. Professionally I run into two types of homosexuals, one is the constant domestic abuser, the second is the suicidal, on many occasions I’ve even ran into the older/younger stalker relationship paradigm. None of them have been had ever been “happy”.
Neither personally nor professionally have I yet to run into a homosexual couple that was “normal” (in any way) with the normal man-woman- hetero couple problems. ]
I have ran into aproximately ONE couple who could be considered gay, and one of them was intersexed from birth and they both didn’t drink the whole “Gay is a Lifestyle not a preference” Kool-aid. And were very much conservative and socially far less liberal than the other gay folks, they both never went to the “gay pride” events because they were disgusted by the public displays of affection and outright nudity/hedonism.
Finding a truly happy “gay” couple is like finding a minority of a minority of a minority. Like finding a Black Jewish Conservative.
If they choose to get married in a Church, then okay that's a different story.

I am pleased to see that you used one of the correct words ("homosexual") to describe this relationship. I would have chosen "queer" myself.
"Gay" is the word they have chosen for themselves and in the process have forever ruined a perfectly good English word by its association with these sexual distortions in our society.
