The Muslim Brotherhood's Mohammed Mursi has been declared the winner of Egypt's presidential election run-off.
He won 51.73% of the vote, beating former PM Ahmed Shafiq, the Higher Presidential Election Commission said.
The head of the panel of judges, Farouq Sultan, said it had upheld some of the 466 complaints by the candidates, but that the election result still stood.

Who thinks the military is done yet? The army will lose but it may not be pretty. Overthrow of totalitarian regimes is frequently (we are a fairly unique exemption) followed by some theocracy. We can only hope the reformation doesn’t take centuries. Some of this can be blamed on the treatment of the more westernized segments of Iran and Egypt. The change was slow that many are now in the west. Especially the Iranians.

What truly bothers me is peoples blind ignorance. I just read on another thread that a muslim beat his pregnant wife to death for not voting for Mursi. I guess the name of his newly elected muslim brotherhood messiah escaped him (mursi/mercy). They don’t know the word much less its meaning.
Obama has been in talks with the brotherhood and I can’t help but think that he is in elbow deep in the arab spring and its disasterous results. Our democracy is at stake and that truly troubles me. I worry about the future, but we all know that what happens then is dependant on what we as a people and a nation do this Nov.
We must make the right decision to restore our freedoms and respect around the world that the muslim-n-chief has destroted.
