I wish every inland resident could ride through a Cat 3 hurricane (like Rita) before wishing for hurrirain.

Thanks for the heads up. The storm could sit and dump rain for days or get picked up by the Jet stream and go right through northern Florida per the weather channel. They just don’t know. They had figured the high would pick up the storm and bring it to TX but it never did. Meanwhile it is nonstop rain. Threat of tornadoes till 4am. Great!

These Gulf originating tropical storms are enough to drive you to drink. MAKE UP YOUR MIND ALREADY!

I agree, I hope Tejas gets drenched with 5-10 inches. We have all we need here in FL!

Tornado warnings finally called off in northern Pasco County.....but still in effect in Spring Hill/Homossassa Springs area directly north of me (Hernando County) for the next half-hour.

Still pouring rain where I'm located and it's certain I'll awake to extensive coastal flooding damage tomorrow morning.

But for now, things are getting calmer around me as the wind abates somewhat.

I'm just happy and relieved that the electric didn't go out! It generally does during these sustained high-wind storms.

Take a look at her posting history and you’ll find she hasn’t been around FR much lately. I don’t know the reasons.

Here on the eastern side of Pensacola Bay, it has been a cool day and not a drop of rain yet.

Hope you’re doing alright by now, Lady.

We’re about 30 miles inland - about 6” of rain, and it’s stopped, for now.

Stay well, sweetie .............................. FRegards

Here in Tampa the rain has been horrendous. My friends are publishing pictures on facebook of kids with surfboards on the streets and their cars in water up to the bumpers. In front of my house the water is up to my ankles, and I don’t flood.

This has been one of the most incredible rainstorms I’ve ever seen, and I’ve gone through a few hurricanes.

Anyone have suggestions of a good site for maps since Storm Pulse has gone to a pay site?

try NEXRAD

http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/

http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/tracking/at201204.html

and then customize this one for your area:

Radar type: composite with 10 scans in a row is best.

Enjoy

Oh, I dunno, Trav... I kinda like it. (Maybe I'm just a bit more acclimated to these parts!) My boy is glued to his XBox, but my daughter's climbing the walls because she can't go horseback riding. $:-)

The bright side is that this rains have broken the back of the drought here. It was as parched as I've ever seen it.

'Tis morning, the sun is shining brightly and the local mourning dove is somewhat agitatedly perched on the eave looking for the now-missing nest of twigs she built in my front door wreath.

A tornado did hit our town, touching down here and there as it skipped along.

Lots of standing water around outside......and the huge fallen oak tree continues to block my street a hundred yards away. Despite the sunshine, there's still a turbulent wind blowing in strange rotating blasts around the tree tops.

There's an uneasy, eerie look and feel to the very air outside my windows leading me to think we're not quite done with Debbie or her offspring quite yet.

Forecasters saying Debbie is stationary and could be with us another 48 hours. However, storms from Debbie, drawing moisture (rain) from the Gulf, are moving at a 40-50 MPH clip across the state, spawning tornadoes.

So when does Debby Do Dallas?

It looks like the forecasters were completely wrong on Debby's path. Meanwhile forecasters are predicting South Florida to be almost completely underwater within 50 years.
