Eventually people are going to get fed up with trying to bar these monstrous facilities through the legal system and simply take matters into their own hands.

“”Eventually people are going to get fed up with trying to bar these monstrous facilities through the legal system and simply take matters into their own hands.””

Some of this is taking place out of sight of the citizens - under the radar. I know there are some freepers who live in the Metro Atlanta area so I’m posting this in hope that someone more savy than I, can shed some light on how to obtain additional information regarding a parcel of property 5 minutes away from our residence.

A 15 acre parcel of land on Duluth Highway 120 has been sold by GWINNETT COUNTY to “someone” and the word is it will have a mosque built on it. Apparently Gwinnett County became owner of the property in a default of property taxes. A record of sale was recorded on 2/3/12 in the amount of $300,000.00. This parcel has a street address of 2769 Duluth Highway 120 and parcel #R7160014.

This property with a residential dwelling (old) at this time is directly across the road from American Legion Post #251 and on the boundary of a large residential development. While there was never anything announced by the county or any news outlet, the Legion became aware of it when they received a request for permission to tap into utilities across the road on Legion property.

When I became aware of this, a search of county tax property records showed “no such property exists.” Now a month later, the property does show up on the rolls but with a different parcel number - M018109.

Calls to Gwinnett County Planning Commission, Board of Commissioners doesn’t turn up any information whatsoever.
I can’t think of any larger “stick it to them” than the plans for something like a mosque across the road from an American Legion post.

We bought our property 7 years ago and retired here from CA - never thinking we’d have to deal with something like a mosque going up in our backyard.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to obtain more info?

Thanks.
