Establishment Republicans campaigning for homosexual marriage
Family Research Council - Email | June 25, 2012 | Tom McClusky

Posted on 06/26/2012 6:26:20 PM PDT by Iam1ru1-2

Despite a majority of Americans who are pro-life and 30 states that have marriage protection in their state constitutions, we won't take it for granted that Republican Leadership will always respect that it's the social issues that have been at the heart of the party.

In conventions past, there has been controversy surrounding the pro-life plank in the party platform. This year, it appears that controversy has shifted to traditional marriage.

Strong voices within the Republican Party would like nothing more than to change the official stance in regards to marriage between one man and one woman:

Dick Cheney, former U.S. Vice President
Laura Bush, former U.S. First Lady
Ken Mehlman, former Chairman of the Republican National Convention
Former Governors Christine Todd Whitman (NJ
Gary Johnson (NM)
Arnold Schwarzenegger (CA)
Tom Kean (NJ)
Dan Evans - former Gov.(WA)
William Weld (MA).

And there are others who have appeared to compromise on the issue.

Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman
Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX), National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman
......have each raised funds for national pro-homosexual groups. Both of these men are on record supporting marriage between one man and one woman, but there are some who will continue to pressure these men until they cave.

But the problem goes much deeper. For many solid pro-life Republican leaders, the economy appears to have pushed out moral issues in today's politics. One of the casualties is the defense of marriage.

That's why FRC Action will be on hand at the Republican National Convention and the platform committee meetings the week before.

Standing (Ephesians 6:13),

Tom McClusky Senior Vice President FRC Action

Any politician who panders to 3 percent of the population is a fool.

It's less than three percent for a politician, considering how many of the 3 percent cannot or do not vote for one reason or another.

I'll venture to guess that said politician will LOSE 3+ percent out of the balance of the voters.

It seems to me to be a NET LOSS.

But remember, you must all automatically vote for anyone and everyone with an “R” after their name, otherwise you’re a traitor who loves Obama!

With all due respect to Lah-rah Bush, a nice lady, certainly more so than the angry bitch currently in her position, I wouldn’t call her a Republican. Her husband is, her father-in-law is (sort of), but not her nor her mother-in-law.

it's the social issues that have been at the heart of the party

Funny... I thought individual liberty, personal freedom, and sound fiscal policy was the heart of this party.

We are overdue for a conservative third party. The gop has made it clear they don’t care about our issues; abortion, gay marriage, gay adoption....
They chose someone who socially is like Obama. Romney says conservatives will vote for him, yet he refused to go to a single pro life, pro family event. I refuse to vote for someone because they have an R behind their name. If conservatives give themk what they want and vote for a rino who socially like Obama, who will they give us next? Hillary?

It has indeed taken me a good long while to fully acclimatize myself to the fact that the Republican Party I supported and affiliated myself with, steeled in the days of Reagan-era conservatism, has basically gone off the deep end. It’s been downright jarring to find GOP bigwigs actually supporting abject insanity like gay-marriage, open-borders amnesty, and hairbrained schemes like cap-and-trade. Damn, even two weeks ago, Karl Rove was going around professing support for government wind-farm subsidies!

Mind-boggling. Total MORAL ROT has truly overtaken the whole blasted Party. After three decades, the GOP has left me and everything I believe and everything I stand for. They’ve begun to repell me as much as the slimeball Dems. Never would have conceived of this happening just a few short years ago.
