Does it matter what Axelrod calls it? In matters of law, the SC judgment will have to be taken into account, and it considers this a tax.

Pelosi pulled the same sleight of hand yesterday. Its obvious their strategy will be 'tax, what tax?' from here until November.

Romney had better remind America every day until then. In spite of the fact the media will no doubt call him a hypocrite he had better rub these bastards' noses in it.

They got what they wanted—Obamacare to the Supreme Court. NOW they have to abide by the ruling just like the rest of us. The Supreme Court said it WAS A TAX. Let it be written, let it be done. Then it’s a tax. Who is sorry now?

And the sheeple will buy it....people are delusional if they really think this will make people head to DC with torches and pitchforks demanding they get rid of ObamaCare...ain't gonna happen....Roberts was the last line of defense, and he blew it.

Roberts declaring the individual mandate a tax is the worst possible outcome for Ubama.

Finding it unconstitutional would have allowed him to blame the court and carry on as usual.

Finding it constitutional would have vindicated him.

Finding it a tax removes the possibility of blaming the court, and places the credit for the biggest tax increase in the history of the world squarely upon his shoulders.

Ubama is screwed, and we will have a solidly GOP Congress to undo everything he did.

The Supreme Court, four liberals and one conservative ruled Obamah is a LIAR, ObamaCare IS a Tax!

Talk Radio played the Stephanopoulos interview over and over yesterday where Obamah lied over and over again that his ObamaCare was not a tax.

And yesterday the Supreme Court ruled he lied.

>> Does it matter what Axelrod calls it?

Yeah, it matters what Barky’s Gang calls it, if we’re supposed to derive all those *political* benefits that are hidden in the penumbras of the crappy decision, according to the spinning pundits...

remember, one of those political bennies is hanging that TAX around their pencil necks.

But if the ‘rats won’t own up to what SCOTUS actually said themselves, do you honestly think that the media (or the feckless Republicans) will hold their feet to the fire?

Nah. They’ll have their cake and eat it, too.

Fortunately we don't have to rely on Romney. One of the superpacs will probably carry the water. Can't you see the ad now?

The Supreme Court ruled that Obamacare is nothing more than a massive tax. The biggest tax hike in the history of the world, in fact. And the ONLY way to get rid of it is to vote Obama out of office.

Remind folks every day of the TAX & play all those lovely videos of Obama (in ‘preacher’ mode) railing on and on about how nobody who makes less than $250K is going to see “one penny” or “one dime” of a tax increase. People hate taxes which is why Obamatax didn’t pass, but Obamacare did.

Axelrodent is a lying slimeball ... makes real rats look good.

IMO, we can’t fix this in the fall at the ballot box. It will take other means.

Here’s a good one ..... Obama is thinking he dodged a bullet yesterday, the bullet that he spent his first three years ignoring the failing economy to push through healthcare that ends up not constitutional.

Yup, he dodged that one, but he didn’t avoid this one (which I think is worse):

(From Hot Air:) “when Americans left the workforce by the millions in despair over a lack of job creation in 2009 and 2010, Barack Obama spent his time focused not on job creation but on raising taxes on the middle class.”

Throw in the graphic of Pelosi marching through a Tea Party rally with her giant gavel.

So we shouldn't bother voting for a GOP-dominated congress that can repeal it all?

We should just pout like spoiled little babies and give up because we didn't get exactly what we wanted RIGHT NOW?

The U.S. Supreme Court's decision that President Obama's health care law is constitutional keeps it alive for now. But it's important to remember that the law has already lost in the court of public opinion. The Supreme Court ruling is a temporary reprieve more than anything else.

You should be an adman. Your ideas on the audio and visuals are great. I don't think we have to worry, though. $ is pouring into the anti-Obama superpacs. There's little doubt that one or more or them will seize on this ‘historic’ and ‘unprecedented’ tax increase to make a little hay.

Also, in my ‘ad’, I should have said: ‘massive NEW tax’. People hates taxes and tax hikes, but they hate new taxes most of all.

If it is a tax, then the Court has placed the entire thing in the purview of House Ways and Means. That is the tax writing committee. That means that HW&M determines how the thing is funded, if it is at all. Further, tax law requires only a simple majority in the senate to pass/overturn.

The question I have still remains: how can any kind of bill pass out of the congress and just randomly be called a Tax?

The kenyan won't have any problem fundraising now. All those with their fingers in the Obamacare pie stand to make hundreds of billions. They will now pour the payola into the kenyans campaign and super pacs.

I have to give the dims credit for reviewing why hillarycare failed and ruthlessly pounding obamacare through. They got it through congress and co-opted industry. Pure National Socialism. If only the GOP fought like that.

The thing that's inhibiting Obama’s fund-raising is internal polling. Public polling is pulling out all the stops to prop him up: oversampling Dems, using adults or registered voters instead of likely voters, etc. The internal polls are bound to be far worse. No one pours $ into a sinking campaign. If over the next mo or two Obama’s fund-raising hits new highs, I'm wrong. I don't think it will, though. People detest this guy—even those who don't want to look like racists when the polling firm calls their home #. Obama is going to have to become far more popular before his fund-raising takes off like it did in the last race.

Parents of young adults under 27.
I guarantee the penalty will be levied on the parents of the 20 something year old adults so that the young heads full of mush can feel that they got “Free” health care.

Bush ran the very, VERY real risk of losing to Kerry, and only the Swiftboaters saved his bacon. The Superpacs are following in the Swiftboaters’ very effective tradition. GOP candidates tend to shy away from hard hitting ads, but the Superpacs won't. I think we will all be pleased when, as Nov. approaches, some of these well-funded groups roll out their ads.

We may even see the Malignant Narcissist himself come unglued. He's used to running against don't-you-dare-say-his-middle-name McCain. Once the Superpacs start hitting Obama where it hurts, he probably won't even be able to *remember* his middle name.

Fortunately there are private interests/concerns that recognize Obama for the unparalleled, unmitigated disaster he is. They will lead the charge against him, and I would imagine it will be devastating.

“All taxes are mandated.”

Apparently, some are more mandated than others. An excerpt from a piece Mark Levin linked to recently (source AP, via NPR):

“The law, however, severely limits the ability of the IRS to collect the penalties. There are no civil or criminal penalties for refusing to pay it and the IRS cannot seize bank accounts or dock wages to collect it. No interest accumulates for unpaid penalties.

So how can the IRS enforce the mandate? Scary letters and threats to withhold tax refunds.

The law allows the IRS to withhold tax refunds to collect the penalty, and most filers get refunds. This year, 77 percent of the 135 million individual income tax returns processed by the IRS qualified for a refund. The average refund: $2,707.

For those who don’t qualify for a refund, a stern letter from the IRS can be effective, even if it doesn’t come with the threat of civil or criminal penalties, said Elizabeth Maresca, a former IRS trial attorney who supervises the Tax & Consumer Litigation Clinic at the Fordham University law school.

“Most people pay because they’re scared, and I don’t think that’s going to change,” Maresca said.”
