Justice Department shields Holder from prosecution after contempt vote

The Justice Department moved Friday to shield Attorney General Eric Holder from prosecution after the House voted to hold him in contempt of Congress.

The contempt vote technically opens the door for the House to call on the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia to bring the case against Holder before a grand jury. But because U.S. Attorney Ronald Machen works for Holder and because President Obama has already asserted executive privilege over the documents in question, it was expected Holder's Justice Department would not take that step.

Deputy Attorney General James Cole confirmed in a letter to House Speaker John Boehner that the department in fact would not pursue prosecution. The attorney general's withholding of documents pertaining to Operation Fast and Furious, he wrote, "does not constitute a crime."

The DOJ is an enemy of the US Constitution and Congress.

If Congress had one testicle-equivalent between all of them,
they would realize they CREATED the DOJ and the Courts,
and arrest Holder and defund the DOJ until the terrorists,
aliens, murderers, and criminals which comprise
the DOJ are removed.

They are frightened out of their wits.

There must be capital crimes being covered-up, leading all the way to the White Hut.

Does the AG take any kind of oath on being sworn in? One would think so.And one would think that that oath would contain a promise to enforce the nation’s laws fairly, evenly and universally. And if US Attorneys also take an oath one would think a similar promise would be included in it.

One would think that of an honorable person - we are not dealing with honorable people. We are dealing with the scum of the earth, the whole administration of them. Where did they find all the rocks they crawled out of, I don’t know but they have not one shred of decency or honor among them - just greed and power.

"Deputy Attorney General James Cole confirmed in a letter to House Speaker John Boehner that the department in fact would not pursue prosecution."

Huh. Imagine that. You can knock me over with a feather.

I sure thought the federal DOJ prosecutors would take this just as serious as they did the black panthers intimidating voters at the polls, or as serious as they do stopping the invasion of illegal aliens.

I'm shocked.

I see the contempt charge is really forcing his hand.. good thing they spent the political capital on a useless resolution that will go nowhere until after Holder gets a pardon from Obama..

Eric Holder was appointed to to make sure the democrats and Obama could pollute the voting system just long enough to secure a second term which is when the mischief begins.

Yup, every last one of them. No decent person with integrity would ever work for this administration, and if they did, not for very long.

Well, well, well...what do we have here?

The Republicans are actually going to either “shit or get off the pot”.....something they are totally unused to.

They have made a great show of “huff and puff” but they ain’t showing no stuff...like always.

Just watch; when faced with enforcing the laws of Congress and the full ability to do so, they become so horrified of being racists that nothing more is going to happen other than making a lot of noise.

This was the point I was waiting for......ACTUAL ACTION!

Ain’t gonna happen folks. The party is over and the Republicans pried defeat from the jaws of victory by using compromise once again.
