Kids who bullied bus monitor suspended for a year, assigned to reform school

You need closure.

Following individual meetings this week with school and district administrators, each family waived their right to a hearing and agreed to one-year suspensions from school and regular bus transportation. The Greece Central School District is legally required to provide all students ages 5 to 16 with an education, therefore, during the 2012-13 school year, the students who have been suspended will be transferred to the district Reengagement Center, located in a non-school facility. This alternative education program keeps middle school students on track academically while providing a structured opportunity for students to take responsibility for their actions by completing community service hours and receiving formal instruction related to conduct and behavior that prepares them for a productive future. The program includes a strong parent involvement component.

Each student will be required to complete 50 hours of community service with senior citizens and will complete a formal program in bullying prevention, respect and responsibility. In accordance with district policy, if at 30 weeks into the school year the students have completed the conditions of their discipline and are in good standing at the Reengagement Center, they can apply for early readmission to Athena Middle School.

Too much, too little, or just enough? A year’s a stiff sentence for 10 or so minutes of verbal harassment, as nasty as it was, but the school district’s under immense pressure to be strict with the little cretins. And this incident’s playing out, of course, amid growing awareness culturally of how bad the effects of bullying can be. Crack down on this bunch and you send a national message given the spotlight on this case.

Because I know you’re wondering, the donations for Klein now stand north of $668,000. Per the Times, more than 30,000 people have contributed from all 50 states and 82 countries. Two days ago, she finally met the man who came up with the idea. Here’s the vid from WGRZ.

"what they did was terrible, they are not criminals."

Neither are kids that are cruel to animals.....but guess what they grow up to be?

These little cretins will hopefully think twice about what they do and say, from now on! If not - they may end up in prison some day.

I gave you a ‘right’ but you choose to stick with haZZing a wrong.

You act just like a liberal. In the face of the fact she had d no legal authorized way to enforce any semblance of order, you demand she exercise power she does not possess.

Until you show definitively that this and any person like her has a legally doable way to ‘maintain order’ and what EXACTLY/VERBATIM that may be, then sit silently and try not to make such an ass of yourself.

Neither of us have records that would document her exact work conditions.

So you too may be “pulling all of that out your hind end with nothing more than vaporous farty supposition.”

BTW-I have not defended the kids involved nor the school administrators, except to say that they kids were delinquent brats and the school administrators delinquent for having someone so incompetent as a school bus monitor.

It’s not clear to me that a taxed gift (which has a large annual exemption) is brought also into wage/earned income to be doubly taxed. Though in the Roberts regime where all taxes are fair, who knows?

Ha! Silly me, I thought you meant catalpa pods for their medicinal effect on snake bites!

Sorry about your mom. I lost mine to a smoking related illness, too. By the time she quit, it was too late.
I don’t smoke, either - never have. Hate the smell. “;^(

....I’m glad you aren’t raising my grandkids. Your obvious liberal attitude is prevalent in parents today - and as a result, we have unaccountable children, who grow up to be psychos.

Other than the hypothetical Hells Angel, who wouldn’t be “incompetent” in a school position that is set up as the vast majority in this Ewe Essay clearly are? The vast weight of probability is that you are pulling out the farty supposition. I am stating obvious likelihoods.

“Until you show definitively that this and any person like her has a legally doable way to ‘maintain order’ and what EXACTLY/VERBATIM that may be..”

For some reason, I doubt that you have any official policy documentation from that school or school district as to how the bus monitor is to maintain order.

I know that prizes you win on game shows are taxed as income and that is neither wages or earned income. There’s no way she’s going to come out of this without paying taxes. There may be some way she can defer some of it to later years though and avoid one single huge whack.

What is your reference point to paint the ubiquitous “Brats are running our schools” stories as being minority situations? Especially when such stories are only reluctantly broached to the public by our liberal utopian MSM?

You’re out of touch with reality, Uncle. Even if insisting on viewing the entire situation through the monoscopic lens of “incompetence” the lady herself is scarcely the root of the failure. And I seriously doubt that screaming liberal parents would long tolerate the Hells Angels monitors (oh, my kid is having nightmares about bikers now).

Believe it or not, there are hundreds of thousands of school busses that roll through out nation each and every school day without Hell’s Angels acting as a bus monitor.

Instead, school districts employ people who are able wake up in the morning and each day successfully fulfill their duties, regardless of constraints placed on them by administrators.

Those places are where parents all care. The buses do not even NEED monitors then; the kids behave tolerably.

However the situation that floods the country is those where the parents do not care. Evil needs no special invitation. What tells you this situation is rare? Maybe for it to hit the public eye is rare. But go into any slum or most big cities and they’ll tell you. It’s a jungle.

That’s pretty feeble, you troll, to jump on a typo.

Nobody’s reported on what else the woman attempted to keep order prior to this (she’s not obviously new).

My generation of kids would have respected a grandma on the bus. They would have been paddled otherwise, and most came from homes where honoring the elderly was done routinely anyhow. Not an option today.

I like helping foolish people dig their holes deeper. Right about now, this one is about to China.

But you are right. There’s little point saying much else. He has 3 pages of posts repeating himself incorrectly in the face of evidence to the contrary. If people can’t see him for what he is by now, then we’ve done all we can do.

I am not necessarily in disagreement with you, but I do have children and grandchildren in our public school and almost all the kids in the school are well mannered and the teachers and staff are competent.

Hope there is follow up on these kids. My guess is that they’ll be radical political or union operatives down the road.

Stay tuned.

Obviously this is not Miami....in Miami, Trayvon Martin slugs a bus driver and nothing is done, later becomes a national hero after being capped in another violent doing
