“The Sunday Morning Bray”, by Bray!

‘These men who were hired last worked only one hour,’ they said, ‘and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the work and the heat of the day.’ Matt 20:12

If Hollywood was so eager to be communist why do so many of them need to be filthy rich? Shouldn’t Sean Penn and Alec Baldwin insist that they make no more than what a cameraman makes? It’s easy to be a commie lib when you have more money than you could ever spend in 10 lifetimes, it’s a lot harder if you are wondering how you are going to pay your taxes, fill the tank and make your house payment. The only people who can truly afford communism are the extremely wealthy and the dirt poor, everyone else pays.

The truth about SoddomWood is it is a nearly perfect capitalist economy. People, are for the most part paid what they are worth by that economy and is an open market for their individual talents. Every skill has a corresponding value which is paid accordingly. The investors invest in an actor such as Alec Baldwin on what they believe he can bring to the project monetarily and he is prepaid or if he wants to gamble will take a portion of the gate. No matter how he wants to prattle on about the 1% vs the 99, he is paid the outrageous rates he is paid due to making himself a small fraction of a percent who can generate an audience willing to either watch his comedy, go to his movies or buy his credit card.

The capitalist economy will pay anyone exactly what they are worth. It doesn’t matter if you agree or disagree with his ability to act or how he markets himself as an agent for the little guy; he is one of the rarest of commodities on the planet, a decent looking guy who is believable when speaking his lines. Likewise the cameraman is paid union scale not by how he differentiates himself from other cameramen, but he had enough skill or nepotism to get him in the union and then takes advantage of whatever opportunities presents themselves. A skilled cameraman is also a valuable commodity and will get better jobs and pay but will never be judged economically by audience generated like those on the other side of the lens.

Hollywood is one of the enclaves of pure capitalism yet has no idea that it is what it is. It generates massive amounts of revenue from absolutely nothing of value. People are rewarded by how rare they can make their skills and the ability to market those skills to an eager marketplace. They are rare diamonds whose facets are attractive features and practiced acting skills for sell to capitalism. Unfortunately the people there are either ignorant of the fact, pandering to the audience or so self centered they are glad for their own success but really don’t want the lower classes polluting their caste. Some of it is fear of going against the status quo of commie sympathy but a certain part of it is pure evil and class protection. People like Alec Baldwin likely thinks he is superior to the general public so he makes his liberal proclamations speaking to his audience in Beverly Hills while he keeps himself completely removed from the general public he so outwardly claims to embrace.

This is what makes no sense. These people who have succeeded in a very capitalistic society with little or no public money and all private yet reject that very formula which made them successful beyond their dreams. Until one of them has the courage to take a major cut in pay to help the 99% they work with, you simply have to shake your head and chalk it up to being Lear Jet Libs. You would hope Sean Penn would at least give an honest look at capitalism and realize he would be some dope head lying in a ditch if not for an economic system that gave him a chance to win Megabucks. No, he would rather fly down to Cuba and give Castro a virtual casting couch bragging about what a great Country it is compared to America. Course the chances of a Soviet country making a movie glorifying drugs and making him a star is about the same as one of Castro’s dissidents swimming to Miami.

No, the HollyWhacked self indulgent would rather go the intellectually lazy route and give the same old America is a racist, sexist, homophobic Country that is unfair. What about the fairness of making these people wealthy beyond their dreams, what unfairness do they have to complain about. Doesn’t it make more sense for them to get up and say how fair it was for pure capitalism to spot their talent and pay for it accordingly? Shouldn’t they give back to the people telling them there is hope for their future in a purely Capitalistic economy rather than one that is predetermined by a centralized expansive gummit? Of course they should but they are inside their own dictatorial commiecratic world which expects their stars to act and make statements which tear down America and capitalism to supposedly connect with Joe average as well as gain favor with the Hollywierd elite.

For many even their tearing down the economic system which brings them untold wealth is an economic decision. They have to make stupid statements like Bill Maher and Sean Penn to stay on the A list and turn the dollars they need to turn to make those multi-million salaries. The irony of that dance escapes these paid organ grinder monkeys although they have to understand it on some level as they complain and make fun of the 1% while they take a Gulfstream to Cannes while they pronounce it with a silent S and sipping their ’95 Krug. Yes, it’s those evil one-percenters are who are destroying our precious earth and oppressing the 99.

What they should be preaching is if everyone had the same opportunities they had for upward mobility and a chance to market your talents in a free economy this would be the system to strive for. Most can see why John Wayne and Clint Eastwood were paid more than some of the lesser actors due to their talents and presence. At the same time many never make it and are thrown into the underworld of SoddomWood making porn or being toys for the stars which is the way pure Capitalism actually works. Is it fair for them? Yes, because they are allowed to make bad choices as well as good, it is what character is all about. These people know the risk they are taking to become the mili-fraction of a percent to make the big time and failing is a likely possibility.

What Sean Penn and Alec Baldwin should be professing is that they make no more than the cameraman and any excess due to market forces should go into a fund to eliminate risk for struggling stars. This fund run by the District of Corruption will make sure any of the failed actors and actresses don’t end up on the street but will have a cameraman’s wage to survive and continue their training or trained into another career. They should be eager to actually do what they continually preach on everyone else and turn SoddomWood into the utopian paradise they want for the rest of America. So from now on we expect that movie actors, directors and agents who promote ObamaCare for America will insist on no more than the Cameraman’s pay and they will let the rest of their wealth go to ObamaStarCare for budding stars who want to someday earn the Cameraman’s pay they are already getting. In a few short years they would no longer have to fly their Gulfstream’s to Cuba to visit a workers paradise, they would be living in it. Perhaps Pelosi can write ObamaStarCare, something even the Tea Party will support?

Pray for America

Lets see, going to hit 94 today.

Or gas up and hit the beach.

Nancy Pelosi and Teddy Kennedy's widow on the same day? I suppose it might be interesting to get the perspective of 2 women who have gained from ill-gotten fortunes, but that should be on some reality show on Oprah's channel or E!, not a major network.

And speaking of ill-gotten fortunes, I do wish that every time Al Sharpton gets quoted somewhere, an enterprising reporter gets a reaction from Tawana Braxley as well. It's a shame that he became a celebrity while she became a footnote, when she did the heavy lifting and carving to get into the headlines in the first place.

Morning AB, All....

Hot here in the swamps, as it is across America. And that’s just the anger over John Roberts, weather’s kinda warm too.

As always, thank you AB, for doing this thread.

Got a problem....got a new bread machine.

Well that’s not the problem. The problem is the first loaf I made in it came out a bucket of dry crumbs.

There’s a history, to include the cat getting stuck in the kitchen cupboard.

More later.

Got plenty of thoughts on the Roberts matter, as do we all I suspect.

Will join in the commentary but right now, let me say, do NOT believe the “wise” pundits who think John Roberts to be Christ returned.

This applies especially to Charles Krauthammer, who practically wept with pride over the sacrifice of the Chief Justice who only did it, after all, for us.

Guy didn’t do his job is all, he plain flat didn’t do his job. I don’t do my job, you don’t do your job, what happens?

FIRED!

Only we can’t fire this guy.

Something really went awry with our country last week and I look forward to the input of y’all.

Not to mention the bread machine problem.

Burning question - will George Will stick to his idiotic claims that this was a “substantial conservative win”? How many times will “silver lining” be brought up in reference to the disaster that Roberts and the other four idiots have just cemented as law?

I had a bread machine.

It was purchased at the end of last century and I had it packed away. Husband loves bread out of the bread machine so I decided to pull it out and start using again.

Only it walks over the kitchen counter as it mechanically kneads. Besides, the resulting loaf came out....TADA....a bucket of crumbs. I have made bread before, plenty of times. Never got a bucket of crumbs.

So it’s my birthday and husband gets me new bread machine. Old one thrown in trash because of its habit of walking, besides, the bucket of crumbs I blamed on the old machine.

New machine up and ready. This machine makes bigger loaves, something like 2 pounds, 1/2 lb bigger than older one. The machine’s own recipe book has recipe for basic white bread-2 pounds, so I make.

Due to crumb bucket of last try, I am very, very careful. FOUR cups of bread flour it calls for....I put the stuff in as it calls, liquids first, then dry, level the dry, add salt, bit of sugar....then make a well, add the yeast. Check yeast date-good until October 2013.

Turn it on, boom, machine starts and this one does NOT walk all over the kitchen counter.

I get busy doing other stuff, find husband in kitchen checking out machine. “I heard something banging around and wanted to make sure it wasn’t the new bread machine.”

I too hear the slam of kitchen cupboard doors and I’m livid. Darn, the NEW bread machine not only walks all over the counter, it’s slamming kitchen cupboard doors!

I run around to check further and see a black and white paw reaching out from behind a close kitchen cupboard door. The owner of the black and white paw could not open the cupboard door because my kitchen stool was blocking it but he kept pushing it, slamming it, in an effort to get out.

Gerald was not at all upset about being caught behind closed door because in Gerald’s world, the world of feline sous chefs who help humans with the cooking, sometimes you stuck in cupboards. He’d sit and ponder the situation then reach the paw out again. In Gerald’s world, somebody comes and lets you out sooner or later.

At any rate the bread machine was not slamming the kitchen doors and I was pleased.

Except when it was done and I opened my creation to find....a bucket of crumbs!

Now I used flour from a tupperware type of container with “bread machine flour” written with magic marker on the side.

I don’t know, this could have been a mistake. Maybe it wasn’t bread machine flour. It might have been regular flour and I dunno, maybe that’s part of the problem.

I did some investigating and as I searched the Internet, I find NO bread machine recipe that has FOUR cups of flour to ONE cup of liquid, that if the bread turns out dry and crumbly...it’s probably not enough liquid.

But this is the recipe that came from the bread machine manual!

Anyway, I shall buy some fresh bread machine flour this upcoming week and I will try again.

Gerald will be, as always, my sous chef.

Wish me luck.

Hell, as far as I know, about 15% of the people are on MediCaid...medical welfare.

Lew tells Wallace he wants to move on and talk about the economy and jobs. I seriously doubt that.

Now Wallace asking Lew about Holder, and F&F

Lew lying his @$$ off about Holder not knowing about it and stopped it immediately.

What I heard Jack Lou say on ABC was that the 1% were screwing up the whole system by taking advanatage of the health care system, not paying for it, and really, they could afford it!

So this monstrosity of a bill just closed that loophole and reigned in that 1% to pay their fair share, and now the whole system will work! (WOW)

Let the reactions of these wise “pundits”, like George Will as you mention, and Krauthammer, be a lesson to us all.

They are the political chattering class and they are part of the problem.

I read how Roberts was “protecting” the image of the Supreme Court with his silly, and probably illegal, action. I read that Roberts threw himself on his sword-can you imagine anybody stupid enough to express such a thing?- to save the country.

The political chattering class, yes even the so-called conservative ones, did not see the emperor has no clothes. Only we, the common people, with the common sense the political elite and their chattering class do not have, see the absurdity of what happened last week.

Our legislators passed an outrageous piece of legislation that nobody wants, that was passed through bribes and incentives to certain states and not others, that the public tried desperately to stop by electing a Republican to replace Ted Kennedy then in 2010 rang some clocks with the country’s collective outrage.

So we wait for the Supreme Court to do their little tiny job, a great job when you think about it, a lifetime job protection for just reading a document and interpreting....AND THEY DO NOTHING!

Well Roberts changes the law from a mandate to a tax, thereby effectively re-writing the law which the SC is NOT supposed to do, and we’re all out here in la-la land, bitter and feeling more than a little tyrannized.

Our gubmint is run amok folks, that’s all.

Time for us, the common people, to do what we got to do.

First, let’s eject those always wrong conservative pundits, Will, Krauthammer....time for them to go.

Then we’ll talk.

Before you hit the beach here's a take on what may have happened recently in the supreme court.

Of course the big question is why did Chief Supreme Court Justice John Roberts rewrite Obamcare giving the dead sea scroll new life by morphing it into just another tax.

You have to jump into this guys mind to really know what happened and since few of us are up to that we are relegated to just educated guesses.

Here's mine.

Currently, we have a regime that is fully engaged in the Chicago Way. What is the Chicago way? It's a system of intimidation through long term political corruption by political animals willing to do most anything to get what they want. This intimidation includes murder of ones family or basically whatever it takes.

(by the way Valerie Jarrett the defacto potus now was Daley's go to gal before she came to dc)

If you happened to see the State of the Union speech where the Manchurian in charge gave the evil eye to the Court more than once you can get it that there may be just a little apprehension on the part of the five "supposed"conservative members who don't cave to socialism/communism aka the Chicago way. Are they now targets with the biggest target Roberts?

In addition as a supposed conservative member of the court being appointed instead of Harriet Roberts (which is a challenging mindset all of its own to be considered), you have to think that perhaps Roberts feels just a little allegiance to the right as well.

So he may view himself be in a position where he thinks he may have to appeal to both sides and basically have a hell of a good argument for whomever wins in November. His survival may be at stake in one case and just for appearances in the other.

Playing both sides could well have been the motive for Roberts rewriting obamacare(if he did the dirty work himself rumors are he is no rocket scientist either) and declaring it nothing but a big tax that congress has the right to do.

If it was it may well accomplish the following: If O'Kardashian is reelected Roberts simply tells Barry "hey I was on your side but had to make it look good for my(supposed) Budd's on the right" and will probably get a pass from the Chicago mob. After all they got what they wanted 1/6 of the economy of the US under their control.

If Romney wins in November all Roberts has to say is, "hey Mitt I made it a tax so you can get rid of it in the Senate with only 51%! I'm really a big conservative guy see Mitt." Romney at that point basically has no choice but to say "thanks" having claimed he would gut Obamcare on his first day anyway.Robers can make the case its now any easy task.Of course this presupposes we take the Senate which may not be a slam dunk unless Sarah and Marco can fire up the base as good as she did on her own in 2010,then we take it all.

Either way Robert's slimy ass is covered and he has plausible deny ability regardless of who wins in November which w the entire goal.

I know Krauthammer says its because Roberts is so noble he didn't want the Supreme Court to overreach its bounds by usurping power over Congress but sorry Chuck I ain't buyin' that one.

Excellent take, as usual, bray.

It is more than a little amusing so many of the Liberal rich adore the money but hate the rich yet on the other hand despise the "little" people as well.

I think a lot of the problem is that both greed and envy are vying for their souls and both are winning. Hate and pride seem to be the end result instead of a grateful heart for their God-given talents and the fantastic opportunity to use them. For them, it's all about themselves despite their protestations to the contrary. Sad.

Interstate sales of health insurance
Tort reform
Go step by step

McConnell not concerned about the 1%

Not going to a European-style Socialized Medical System, the private insurance/nonprofit American healthcare system is the finest in the world.

That is a scary thought. If we do win we will have to change the old boys club that brings the worst possible spokesmen we can find. He can barely order a Big Mac let alone explain Conservatism.

Time for us, the common people, to do what we got to do.

We need to get out and canvass for Tea Party candidates who will overturn the law/tax and furthermore we need to sign the petition to pass the Anti-Mandate Amendment in order to make it all the harder for Congress and the Supremes to simply ignore the Constitution.

A new amendment prohibiting the taxing of non-commerce might buy Americans a couple more generations of freedom before another future Roberts type decides to fart that up is down and black is white.

ABC - George Will still holding on to his claim that this is a win. George WIll is officially a moron. (Aaahhhh, Terry Moron agrees with him. George Will is right, Glen Beck is wrong. Hear that George? That should give you pause if Terry Moron agrees with you.)

Keith Olberman -

Artur Davis, former D, turned R, AL - this is not a popular law. The people that don’t like this law , don’t like it because they think it costs too much, it’s unpredictable, etc.

Donna Brazile - this law didn’t go far enough. It didn’t include a single payer option. (Don’t worry, Donna, it’s coming!)

Great post buddy.

SHeer brilliance as usual.

Getting into the minds of Hollywood's elite is challenging at best.

About the only parallel I can make as to why those who benefit more from capitalism than most are the most ardent socialists is the same reason why so many otherwise rational individuals voted for the Dear Leader in 2008.

It's white guilt in a contorted fashion.

The Hollywood rich share a near universal guilt that they have taken away gold/wealth from others and should now be self enforced to give it back to the poor using government channels.

This differs from true capitalists who use charities rather than the worst use of funds ever devised; the US government. Its probably not too much more complicated that that.

He can barely order a Big Mac

True enough.

Brit says it is even more vulnerable to repeal than it was before.

Wahn MIA...no one to slap-down today.

Referring to the ObamaCare ruling as "Robert's Rule" and calling it a 1/4/4 decision.

Some people saying he created a mine-field and gave the people a lot of tools.

WAPO reporter says while others are playing checkers, Roberts is playing chess.

Wallace asking if Roberts was subject to coercion...did he switch his vote at the last minute. Blonde Chicky Shannon says it is a reasonable theory.

Brit says dissent is much more compelling, Roberts' rule is somewhat of a stretch, but agrees with the "playing chess" analogy.

Thanks for the reminder. Ugh. We're hearing good things from the repubs now but I fear they'll cave once again if elected in November. We lack leaders with the courage to stick to their convictions.

First, let’s eject those always wrong conservative pundits, Will, Krauthammer....time for them to go. .

I am still waiting for all that coverage of Fast and Furious by the MSM that Krauthammer predicted

Average person on this site has are more aware of the reality of the state of the country than Will and Krauthammer put together
