Rep. Blake Farentholdís sisterís home raided
POLITICO ^ | 7/2/12 7:24 PM EDT | JAKE SHERMAN

Posted on 07/02/2012 9:07:49 PM PDT by Paleo Conservative

Police in Texas raided the home of Rep. Blake Farenthold’s sister, a local television station reported Monday.

KRIS TV reported that a SWAT team searched her Corpus Christi home, looking for drugs and weapons.

The police department did not immediately comment because officers were still in the field, an officer told POLITICO.

“I am saddened to learn the terrible news of the situation unfolding around my sister,” Farenthold said in a statement, released by his Congressional office.

“Tragedy has occurred in my family in the past, and I am saddened it has happened again. I trust that law enforcement officials are doing their job and I support them carrying out their duty, regardless of where it takes them. I love my sister and ask for your prayers for her and the rest of my family as we work through this very difficult time.”

Farenthold, a Texas Republican, is a freshman who snatched a south Texas seat in 2010 from longtime Democratic Rep. Solomon Ortiz.

The raid appears to be drug related, and not related to Rep. Farenthold's leadership in the House Oversight Committee's investigation of the Fast and Furious scandal.

The word “Democrat” isn’t even in the LSM’s vocabulary if it’s one of their own that’s run afoul of the law.

But, we always know...because of the conspicuous absence of the word.

He broke a strangle hold on what was not only a Democrat stronghold but a stronghold representing Mexican interests.

Now guess why his family is involved.

Farenthold defeated him 47.8%-47.1%, a margin of just 770 votes

Democrat Ortiz had been in Congress since 1983 until defeated in 2010.

Trust but verify. This could be payback or the sister could be a black sheep in the family. As long as Blake Farenthold's not involved, this story ought to be as irrelevant for a GOP member as the press deems them for Democrats.

My first reflex is to point and laugh at the leftist 'journalist'.

Then I read their excretions.

I have no idea about the facts involved, and the story didn't do anything to help that except there was a swat raid, and it was on a sister of a sitting conservative.

Reeks. Like day old fish.

Truth will out, but the lie gets around the world before truth puts it's pants on.

Latest Update UPDATE: Sue Farenthold Arrested On Drug Charge
11:00 PM by Bart Bedsole - bbedsole@kristv.com
CORPUS CHRISTI - CCPD confirmed late Monday that Sue Farenthold, the sister of Congressman Blake Farenthold, had been taken to jail on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
That charge typically includes cocaine, heroin, methamphetime, and other drugs more serious than marijuana.
Flashbangs were used while authorities were searching for a known gang member and narcotics inside the home in the 5000 block of Cape Romain in South Shore Estates area.
SWAT officers, drug officers, and US Marshals went out to the house around 2:15pm Monday.
Police had received word that there were drugs and weapons inside and obtained a warrant.
Officers say they knew someone was home at the time and tried calling a house phone, but no one answered.
Authorities then used a public address system, but still no one came out. So they used tear gas and four people came out, three men and Sue Farenthold, who resides at the home.
Police later said they found methamphetamine inside the home, along with at least two guns and assault rifle ammunition.
There was also a brown substance seized which wasn’t identified at the scene.
Police arrested Sue Farenthold, 48, Michael Wayne, 49, Jesus Juarez, 38, and Johnny Reynolds, 40, on charges if possession of a controlled substance. Reynolds is also charged for an outstanding warrant and for failing to identify himself to authorities.
Congressman Farenthold released the following statement on the incident late Monday afternoon:
“I am saddened to learn the terrible news of the situation unfolding around my sister. Tragedy has occurred in my family in the past, and I am saddened it has happened again. I trust that law enforcement officials are doing their job and I support them carrying out their duty, regardless of where it takes them. I love my sister and ask for your prayers for her and the rest of my family as we work through this very difficult time..”

Just off the top, Would probably say they were overlooking it as they do others, then they decided to give Texas and the congressman a little warning. They play dirty in the White House. Just a little warning shot.

Of all the choices in life you have one of the most important that is denied you is who you are related to.

He probably has a sister that got into drugs and spiraled down that hellhole, and now its being used against him when I bet he has done nothing but try and help her.

Most families have black sheep somewhere that embarrass us eventually, fortunately most people recognize that have the decency to ignore a relationship that is no one’s choice but God himself.

I got a feeling that this is just the beginning, my FRiend. He now has the authority to arrest and detain indefineately without trial anyone he pleases. He now has the authority to "mandate" anyone to do as he pleases, or be taxed into bankrupturcy then put in prison. This last one, coupled with those already given him by Congress, shoud give him everything he needs to take total control. Congress is now merely a figurehead. The Republican Party exists only because ours is a two party system. The real power rests with the Democrat Party. By mutual agreement of both parties.

So from this point in time forward, we are going to see what we are made of. Whether we like what we will see is another matter.

Never.

It’s surreal how Republicans are encouraged for civility and to reach across the aisle and if one votes differently in the house they are applauded for being open minded, matured, acquired and used wisdom - and frankly it is always encouraged for Republicans, like the threats (NYT article) to Roberts and how he is lauded now in some ways by the MSM. Yet, you NEVER hear the MSM encouraging Democrats to cross the aisle, ever. The Holder contempt vote is an example as some of those Democrat defectors were excoriated in the press for their vote, before and after.

[ Geez, Republican law enfarcement lovers reeally bug me. ]

Not many people here realize that the FEDERALLY UNDECLARED WAR ON DRUGS is also an all out war on the Bill of Rights.

The drug war should only exist on a state level NEVER a federal level. If the Federal Government was doing it’s Constitutionally mandated job the only federal involvement in the “Drug War” would only be occuring at the Borders.

Good response. Who can argue with that?

He didn't try to lie, blame George Bush, or cover anything up. This is what makes him different than a democrat.

If a cousin of mine has an abortion, it's out of my hands. In no way could I be blamed for what she's done. Blaming Bush for her abortion just isn't something I'd do. I, too, would ask people to pray for her.

If I recall in the original report of his death/fire, the fire department ruled out foul play/intentional fire until the discovery of the bullet wound made them go back and take a second look.

Connected with City Hall people doing things they wouldn’t want to be caught doing. Roughly in the same time frame as the Lee P. Brown scandals (his aide was a bribed lobbyist in a national scandal played down as local corruption in each of the cities although they were interconnected and uncovered in a Federal probe).
