Twitter was filled with patriotic declarations, pictures of fireworks and descriptions of highly-caloric barbeques on the Fourth of July. For a few celebrities, however, the day served only as a reminder of past injustices. Comedian Chris Rock, followed by actors Don Cheadle and Zach Braff, brought the unsaid racial tensions of the country to the front burner by reminding his followers that slavery continued for many years after the Declaration of Independence was signed.

George Washington offered freedom to his slaves due to their numbers growing to large and they wouldn’t leave. When he died his wife gave them all their freedom and they stayed for decades working his plantation.
The first slaves were brought here by a Black man.

But one point that should be made directly is this. Neither Thomas Jefferson, nor those other signers of the Declaration Of Independence, believed that all people were equal; or that Government had a role in trying to equalize their circumstances (i.e., they did not embrace Socialism in any of its inane manifestations). That is not what was meant or intended by the recital of self-evident concepts in the preamble of the Declaration.
They were simply refuting the notion that the King had a divine mandate to rule them. That was the function of the language that the foolish & malicious endlessly cite, completely out of context. Pretending that everyone is equal is to fall into a fantasy world, where no real progress is ever possible.

Chris Rock thinks every place black culture's entrenched we;d find happy communities, safe streets, flourishing young businesses, and safe successful schools... He's wrong. Wrong. Wrong.
Rock needs to open his eyes and start dealing with the truth...

It's simple. Muslims were the slave traders. They knew Muslim buyers preferred black eunuchs as slaves so they sold them what they wanted. Nine out of ten of your possible ancestral Homies never survived the castration operations - but the slave traders didn't worry. There were plenty more blacks available where they came from and they were used to the agonized screams of infidels so that didn't bother them. Besides, it kept the prices up to have fewer available. The ones that did survive went on to be eunuch slaves for Muslims but never reproduced.
Go ahead, Chris. Search around. Look high and low for your Middle Eastern ancestral Homies. There aren't any.

Democrats were and are in favor of slavery which is enabled by calling the workforce “the government”. People can benefit guiltlessly when they imagine their goodies come from a disembodied institution called “government” and are not made to see that what they get comes from another person’s labors. The government hands out all sorts of goodies and yet the government has no money of its own.

Many blacks have ancestors who were slave owners.
There were thousands of blacks who owned slaves. There were even black slave breeders who sold their own children into slavery. IIRC the first freed black became a slave owner and breeder.

Yeah, I don’t blame the recipients as much as I blame liberal activists.
The recipients believe that the government just pulls the money out of its collective @$$. Remember “I dunno... from his stash!” The only thing I’d blame the recipients for is there willful disregard for where the money really comes from. It doesn’t make sense that the president is giving them money “from his stash”.
Liberal activists are doing it on purpose, with malignant and punitive intent. They are the modern slave masters.
